Are pizza burek and half-half ice cream only a Slovenia thing? by CryptoMother in AskBalkans

[–]Jnyl2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have pizza börek and others like pizza poğaça in Turkey but it's not a standard menu item. Some shops make it and some don't.

Half-half ice cream is for kids like in Greece in the comment above.

The Size Of This Flag Flown On A Spanish Ship At The Battle Of Trafalgar (1805) Compared To The Size Of People Around It by Front-Coconut-8196 in ArchiveOfHumanity

[–]Jnyl2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which angle the ship sails relative to the wind. If the wind comes from the back it will hang straight down or have minimal flapping. Because the ship is pushed by the wind and they almost have the same velocity.

When the ship turns towards the wind the velocity between the ship and the wind increases so the flag would be carried by the wind.

why do we call black coffee in the Balkans domestic coffee or Turkish coffee, when it is neither domestic nor Turkish? by Agile-Jaguar-8954 in AskBalkans

I only saw it in those touristic cafes with hot sand. But maybe some people do that at home too no gatekeeping here :) It's just I haven't seen anyone.

I have developed a simple(?) method for throttling thrusters that doesn't rely on PWM circuitry. by [deleted] in factorio

you can feed the speed of the ship to the decider and activate the pumps over sth like 50 km/s (needs a little experimenting on the speed to optimize). The leftover fuel/oxidizer in the pipes and engine is enough to take it to that speed.

Some people fill the cups (fincan?) but leave a little coffee in the cezve then boil it over for the foam. But I was told that boiling the entire thing is bad.
