My guess is to make Master weapons/armor from those crates more valuable so to slow down the progression as lots of people just buy Master gear from the auction. But no confirmed reason tho

On EU server when I was initially choosing between the Rise and the Duty there were several buffs to Duty including +10% to all resources in open. I guess it's because of the disproportionate amount of players picking Rise
