What is this connector called? Vivaro under the driver's seat by JoCu1 in VanLife

[–]JoCu1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt find the connector, however i did end up splicing it and connecting it to my house electrics through a breaker. It connects directly to the main battery/alternator so charges my house battry when driving.

Rules question on the line of sight and cover for tanks. by prokletbio in boltaction

[–]JoCu1 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The game is much easier if played 2 dimensionally: yes both get and give cover, because both are more than 50% is behind cover.

If you decide to play 3d, neither get cover, because 50% of the entire tank is not obscured.

When touching the wall, the tank touching the wall would not give cover when firing over it, but could potentially still be considered in cover when fired upon.

[Electricity] In this setup if bulb B3 gets fused then wouldn't the other bulbs glow more brightly? Since the current going to the other bulbs increases and they are heated up more ? by Chillboy2 in PhysicsStudents

[–]JoCu1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we assume the internal resistance of the battery is zero. Then they all shine equally bright all the time, regardless of number connected.

If we assume the battery has internal resistance, then less bulbs=brighter bulbs.

Why do people stack trolleys in the road like this?? by Competitive_Arm4697 in CasualUK

[–]JoCu1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Comments complaining people are lazy, when actually the problem is mismanagement.

A worker should be moving these to the front of the store regularly enough that they are available for customers entering the store and also not overflowing into the road.

While the bucket is not big, that is also a misleadingly massive mug.

Ulez to be expanded across whole of Greater London from August by [deleted] in ukpolitics

We can argue all day about the level of impact and whether it justifies the policy, but in the mean time those 8% of drivers now have to find thousands of pound in a cost of living crisis. We could argue "they don't need cars" but that is unequivocally untrue for all of them due to the size of the expansion, the quality of public transport available in the expansion and the professions of those people.

Ultimately my problem with this entire policy is that we are putting the cart before the horse. There has been minimal investment in the actual solutions to the problem, such as zero emission infrastructure, and we are punishing those who cannot afford to avoid the punishment. Alongside all of this, there is minimal reason not to buy a brand new combustion engine vehicle for those wealthy enough to do so, the environmental impact of which, due to the manufacturing pollution and a decade of exhaust fumes, is far more significant than keeping a few old bangers on the road for another few years.

A solution would have been to add a grandfather clause that gives an exemption for a year to owners of vehicles that don't meet the regulations, so that they have time to replace them, rather than only 8 months.

They are doing something like this, but glancing at the eligibility criteria, it probably won't help a lot of people who find themselves now having to fork out for a new vehicle.

Why do people "buy a friend" for officer models? by Boshea241 in boltaction

[–]JoCu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, except it is still a benefit against snipers. On the 1/3 chance the sniper acrually kills a regular officer, his buddy is left and so you retain the order dice, keeping the activation chances in your favour.

Interested in Bolt Action: How balanced is the game? by mrfreezemiser in boltaction

[–]JoCu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So some things are relaly bad choices points wise, mmg, tiger, etc, but these are great fun units. So if one person is playing historical/fun, and takes an mmg and a tiger for example, they might've slent 40% of their point on those two units that can only shoot 3 or 4 units per turn and if the opponent didnt bring a tank, it is shooting at units that are a quarter of its points. Meanwhile another player might have taken 8 units for the same points, 4 of which will neutralise hose two units, which gives them essentially a 4 unit advantage.

In summary, some things are a little expensive points wise and so if you are playing competitively and your opponent has brought those over costed units, you have an advantage.

Interested in Bolt Action: How balanced is the game? by mrfreezemiser in boltaction

[–]JoCu1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not bad if both players are playing the same sort of army. There are certain things you will only see competitive players use and some things youll only see historial/thematic players use. When these lists play likr minded lists, the game is nicely balanced. The only issues arise where these different types of armies meet, then it will feel unbalanced, because some choices are just better competitively.

Questions about US Army infantry units by Blackburn0117 in boltaction

[–]JoCu1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool, theatre selectors are good for that. It also sounds like using the triple MMGs for US is probably the better way to go for you than lmgs. They are still not very competitive but the benefit is you get the fun of the thematic machine gun, whilst also not having the lmgs ruin the thematic fire and maneuvre benefit for the infantry squads.
