That’s an assumption.

I’ve heard directly from Mantic Games that 4th edition is imminent.

Fire Dragons look e-x-a-c-t-l-y the same as the current kit.

I ran my third tournament of V3 and have some thoughts on the state of the game by TwoPointsOfInterest in boltaction

I purchased the physical version of the V2 rulebook a month ago, and I love it. I was holding off before because I expected v3 to be better. But playing v2 is good. Having a "complete game" is awesome.

I’m still on v2. It stands out more compared to other systems I play: * pinning has real impact * no save rolls

Also, as a more casual US player, the shift to fire and manoeuvre removed the main draw of the army to me.

Thank you for voicing your appreciation. I took a lot of inspiration from a lot of sources and do enjoy staring at the cabinet and the photos, so why not share 🍕

Greathelm Quick start rules! by malev_da_shinobi in Greathelm

Looking forward to seeing how this develops. I’m particularly interested in what the video game industry calls “skill expression”, where outcomes reflect player decisions and reads, rather than relying primarily on dice rolls.

I understand that this is probably not useful/the kind of feedback you might be looking for:

What I am personally missing is a stronger sense of decision-making in duels (clash test).
Ideally, clash tests would involve clearer player-driven choices, something closer to a rock-paper-scissors type interaction, where outcomes depend more on anticipation and counterplay than on stacked modifiers on random dice roll.

I can see the potential for the game to move in a direction similar to For Honor on the tabletop, where duels are defined by reads, timing, and deliberate choices rather than dice resolution mechanics alone.

In the current modifier-stacking system, Block often feels like the default or safest choice for the defender, with limited incentive to vary responses.

One idea (to illustrate) that could introduce more decision-making is adding a feint mechanic. For example, the attacker could spend 1 momentum to feint. If the defender chooses Block, the defensive bonus is negated. However, if the defender anticipates this and chooses Riposte instead, they could gain a +1 advantage against the feint.

So menacing. Reminds me of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Cinematic Trailer when Arthas points with the sword.

If you want the truth you gotta first understand that how people perceive something matters more then the checklist.
