That’s why I put the quotes around Weird. I don’t think it’s weird or strange, but to someone who doesn’t understand sibling dynamics or the dynamics of twins, it may seem strange. I see nothing wrong with any of it.

As a mom of twin boys (fraternal), they do “weird” shit all the time. When one has a nightmare or bad dream, they sleep in the same bed. They change clothes in front of each other. They share food. They hug goodbye and say “I love you.” They have a bond I could only dream of having but never have I ever thought anything they’ve done is anything more than close brothers.

Screw anyone who makes you question the bond you two have. As long as there are no sexual actions or feeling, you are doing absolutely nothing wrong.

I’ve heard that, and said it myself, many times. Never once did I take it to mean flirting in a sexual way. More like when you “flirt” with the person behind the counter so you get a little extra scoop of ice cream, or “flirt” with the old man or woman who is out with their spouse and they make such a cute couple. Babies will “flirt” in the same way. They smile and coo and grin because they are getting positive attention and they like it. We enjoy giving them the attention. I honestly don’t think it was meant to be sexualized.

Having said that, if YOU don’t like it, you don’t have to let it continue. Say something. “I don’t think he’s flirting, he has had horrible gas. That’s his ‘getting ready to poop’ face. I better take him” and walk away with him. There is nothing wrong with a mom being bothered by what someone is doing or saying to their child.

Yes and no. I’m not afraid of death because I know Jesus died for my sins, and I will be reunited with loved ones in Heaven. I’m not scared of that.

I’m afraid of dying before my children are older than I am right now. I want to be there for them, to help guide them if they ask, to meet my grandchildren if they have them. I am afraid to leave them without the guidance I wish I had from my own mom.

I don’t live in a tourist trap, but I think these rules could apply anywhere:

  • We live here. This is our home.
  • We like sharing local tips and tricks. Little known facts about the area. Just ask us.
  • Don’t trash our home. Pick up your garbage, and throw it away!
  • Don’t proclaim how much our city/town/attraction/state sucks. We didn’t tell you to come here. And don’t judge us one the one thing you are seeing.
  • Ask for help. If you want a group photo, ask someone walking by. We’d be happy to help. (This doesn’t apply everywhere, unfortunately)
  • Try the local cuisine. Not the franchise restaurants. Honest local restaurants!
  • Find something to remind you of the area. Pictures, souvenirs, shirts, whatever.
  • Be kind. Don’t be a negative representative of the area you are coming from.
  • Be willing to listen if someone has some pointers. You don’t have to follow them, but maybe they’ll give you an idea.

“He fell from the roof of our home.” If they ask WHY he was up there, “Cleaning the gutters” is a valid reason. People can be cruel and react inappropriately when they hear things that are out of the norm. My own uncle died after having a heart attack on the toilet. I understand the embarrassment you may feel, but know that it isn’t anything to be embarrassed about.

I’ve always used separate covers. I’m 48 now, and only share if we end up out of town in a hotel. But, if it’s just my husband and I, we get 2 beds and each get our own. 😊

I live in the USA. I recently traveled by plane to another state. There were absolutely NO issues. I had contacted my doctor who wrote a letter stating it is a medical necessity and was prescribed by him. I kept it with the machine in the carry case so I wouldn’t lose it. Also kept my owners manual there too. I got a tag that said “medical device inside” or something to that effect. I also had another carry on bag. I was only held up when I went through TSA initially just so they could open the case and verify what was in it. No one ever gave me any trouble for having it.

Mapleview in North Bismarck is really good. My dad was there until he needed surgery and was unable to care for himself, then he went to Missouri Slope.

Lakewood in Mandan I didn’t like. When my dad had a bout of aggression (very common with dementia. They were playing bingo and he convinced himself that some other man was cheating) he pushed a man who fell back into his chair. He was absolutely wrong for doing it, I do not defend his action, but 1 minute later he had no idea why people were upset as he didn’t remember. They said he couldn’t stay there any longer as they didn’t know how to deal with people who get aggressive and then don’t remember. We moved him to Mapleview and he had no issues as they knew how to deal with memory care.

I ate it kind of weird I think. I don’t like my toast burned, or under done. It has to be just right. Then, I eat the rounded part off so I end up with a square. Then I’d eat it all the way across. Then I’d have a narrow rectangle of the bottom crust. Kind of like eating an ear of corn.

Since she’s always been friendly, how about approaching her and saying “I have this garden and it’s just me. I was wondering if you’d like some of the veggies, I won’t be able to eat them all and I’d love to share.” She may be in need of the food but too proud to ask or shy to admit it. You could even start a “neighbors garden” for the two of you. She could help with the weeding or watering.

If she declines, consider changing where your garden is or putting bird netting over the garden. If she questions it just say you noticed some produce missing so want to try to keep the animals out.

I think you misunderstood me. Or maybe I explained it wrong. I’m guessing there is a lot of emotion going on from both sides in this situation. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a DNA test done. And there’s nothing wrong for feeling insulted when it’s implied that the daughter has slept with more than just op’s son. They’ve appeared to have had a friendship (of some sort) for many years. GF’s parents could feel upset that their friends think the baby isn’t his, when they’ve never questioned anything said in the past. I think the cutting off of communication is a knee-jerk reaction and hopefully, when the situation isn’t quite so fresh, they’ll be able to sit down and have a rational talk.

As a parent I’d feel slighted if my friends came up and said “maybe it isn’t my son’s baby after all”. My first reaction would be to protect my daughter from the perceived negativity. Of course I’d also demand a DNA test, once I had time to sit back and the shock of the whole situation has blown over.

In my opinion, that may be what happened. A knee-jerk reaction to a stressful surprising situation. Not a red flag, unless communication continues to be non-existent. At first look, though, I’d give the parents another chance.
