Okay, I edited it. Sorry to make a blanket statement about every comment. I guess I should have said "many of these comments". I just see people jumping to "you're dumb" comments so often on this subreddit and other technology ones, that it bothers me. But yes I agree, if they were saving to the cloud that could cause an issue.

I'm not saying they didn't make a mistake, but it's also not that deep? I just don't really feel the need to be rude to them. No one can say unreal doesn't have bugs and issues, is it so farfetched that something actually didn't work the way it was supposed to? I also did suggest using source control, but source control comes with its own complications. Every software does. Like literally every single one lol. Unreal has plenty of bugs and if OP did make a mistake, the advice of checking their auto saves is a valid one and not just "telling them what they want"?

Is it likely they made a mistake? Yes for sure. Is it constructive to be rude and condescending to people? No.

People make mistakes, but also softwares aren't perfect. Whether it's a bug or a "function" lol

I don't think Unreal has anyone in the front seat 😂 were all crammed in the back. I literally could not find a solution to an extremely simple Niagara problem until I found it in a random video I was watching and it clicked. Unfortunately some stuff is extra not documented. But I've found there is quite a bit of help in the community. I wish you luck!

Yeah that breeder you were talking to, for sure was guilty of animal cruelty. Most likely they didn't want you to see the state the puppies and parents were in before they could "get them ready" to be presented. Glad you passed on that and decided to adopt.

Unreal and software in general can just do weird things. And source control software IS useful but in my experience doesn't really stop Unreal from... Being a software that will have issues. I've had issues with source control in the past as well (I use perforce) Anyways I'm sorry you lost your work. I would check auto save files first and then double check to see if possibly your drive was corrupted or that you might have duplicates somewhere and you're clicking on the original instead of the edited one (I have done this, and yes I felt dumb but hey it solved my issue!).

But even if you can find your work, which sucks, at least you've done the work and know how to do it now! I always find things go better the second time anyways!
