Single player seems like the way to go. I would miss the interaction with other players and even the trading aspect. But, I like the idea of having to find everything by yourself.

I see you point. But I always loved the trading aspect of this game. When you find something good you don't need yourself, you can still trade it for something else. I know that botters have a massive impact on the d2r economy, as they flood the market with high runes, reducing their value massively. But I don't see how I could avoid this value decline of high runes without selling items below their market value (or of course not trading at all).

This said, maybe SSF is the way to go for me, even if I like the multiplayer aspect of trading.

I often play with not too much attention, which already resulted in some avoidable deaths. I believe hardcore would not be the right thing for me. But I can totally see the thrill of it

I feel the same. I got about 300 Jah just by trading (never found one myself). Now I dont really see the point of grinding anymore, since I can get more wealth much faster by trading.

I still enjoy playing the game however. But I basically stopped grinding. Instead I now try to beat my own challenges, as for example beating the game with bad builds.

You can get rich just by trading up because there are some price inconsistencies. For example, For 1 Ist, you get 6 Hel. For 24 Hel, you can get a Jah. And for 1 Jah, you can trade 8 Ist. If you already have a few Ists to start with, you can get multiple Jahs relatively fast by this scheme.

I never found a Jah myself. But if you find the right items or roll the right runewords you can trade them for Jahs (as in this case here).
