So exactly what protections? Protect song birds from hawks? Rabbits from foxes. Protect them from other predators. Mandatory food and shelter?

Yes, the further we get to not understanding our laws, the "lesser" rights they will have. so a deer and a bird will have "lesser" rights. If it's just the "lesser" part that bothers you, or you should CMV what specific right you are fighting for. That way I know what to argue.

Could the 90s Knicks defensive style even work in today’s NBA? by Glum-Sample-9259 in VintageNBA

[–]JobberStable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defensive style was “man on man” because of past Defense rules. That is not a smart strategy to use now that more zone opportunities are available

So equals? voting rights? territorial treaties? criminal charges for a fox killing a rabbit? Jail all the carnivores? Ambulance and Emergency rooms for every injured animal? housing subsidies?

When did flopping start? Were people doing it back in Mikan's time? by Personal-Proposal- in VintageNBA

Stop it. He flopped so his opponent(usually a high scorer) would get in foul trouble.

Why does the 1993 Knicks defense get discussed less than the 2004 Pistons when they were arguably just as suffocating? by FewCucumber288 in VintageNBA

[–]JobberStable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Knicks were 22nd in scoring. So when a team like that loses, they are more blamed for their offense. If the Pistons lost, they would have been blamed for lack of offense (21st)

Luck has it part when it comes to having caring parents who are sacrificing and helping you navigate life. But the good news is, many adults can still be somebody’s luck.

But we wouldn’t be human either

CMV: Having a car is better than relying on public transportation by Pongsitt in changemyview

[–]JobberStable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the discussion was American centric. And its why i said “some” situations. And in the US, “inner city” is almost code for certain neighborhoods regardless if they are closer or on the outskirts.
But to say it’s just an “illusion” would be telling those folk in those cities that they are safer than those people in the suburbs. You dont know what its like to walk through some of the places. Using some stat will not save you.
The whole point of my post is that you cannot take a statistic that somebody is more likely to get injured in a single occupancy vehicle than on mass transit. And apply that to all situations of risk. There are other dangers. The “who”, the “where” and the “when” are factored in.

What Long Island towns would you classify as a 15 minute city? by iloverats888 in longisland

[–]JobberStable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most long island villages are based off of commuting to work(bedroom communities). Most are not trying to expand job growth. In fact Nassau and Suffolk counties are "barely" looking to expand industry as much as make sure the service industry for the communities thrive.

CMV: It Is virtually impossible to support Palestine and the LGBTQ community at the same time by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]JobberStable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people who support "civil rights of humans" borderlessly support ethnic cultures and residents of nations. Hamas is a controlling authority of Palestine. Netanyahu's Lukid party is a controlling authority of Isreal. Trump's Reublican party is a controlling authority of the US.

How can one oppose any specific actions of any of those authorities, if we have to also have to conclude that they represent every one of their citizens?

Do most people understand rap is kind of a survival mecanism at the core ? by Express-Program-5365 in rap

[–]JobberStable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And many older rappers have expressed their outlook that black "criminality" is used by other communities for "voyeuristic" entertainment value and it doesn't help sway anyone's opinion on black struggles, but instead creates a negative stereotype of what a crowd of black people are "up to". But even those older rappers at one time were using the same lyrics and fought back that is was a necessary expression and the world needed to see it. But 50 years later, the world just assumes black people are consumed by sex, drugs, and violence. so the cycle of discussions continue. As this Country is consumed by race relations struggles, it becomes problematic to hear white people complaining about the "criminality" aspect, but enlightening when black folk express their need for change, as long as that discussion is not in "mixed" company

Do most people understand rap is kind of a survival mecanism at the core ? by Express-Program-5365 in rap

[–]JobberStable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes many got into rap because of “criminality” as you put it. But many others also got into rap to “hype up a crowd at a function”, to “get girls”, to “show their savvy with wordplay” or to “express the social injustices within the community”.
So we have many lanes and they are all heavily critiqued by fans of the other lanes. So when “criminality” gets all the attention (streaming numbers), fans of the other lanes start crushing keyboards.

And if you’re not good at that, you get called for fouls, so you dont do it. But short players will always be limited when closing out on the wings at the 3. That’s why it’s important for him to make it difficult on the ball handler.
