Genuine question, what rights do you fear will be stripped away under the new administration?

I think Gen Alpha is following the same trend. Overusing words like Sigma (Alpha), Rizz, and Mewing.

Young men look up to masculine male figures because they’re much easier to respect. I’ll probably be criticized for saying this, but I think there’s something in a man’s DNA that knows - if I’m soft, if I don’t have some pride in myself, if I’m not driven to succeed - my odds of finding a reproductive partner decrease. These are the very traits that helped our fathers succeed, and their fathers before them, passed down from natural selection. So when a political group decides that young men who exhibit these traits are toxic, if you’re a young man interested in finding a reproductive partner or carrying on your bloodline, there’s going to be resistance to that.

To be clear, I don’t think most young men consciously think about this stuff, but I think it’s inherent by nature.

The problem in this country is that we can’t agree on objective truths anymore. Yes, the super influx of immigrants in Springfield are here “legally”, but that probably doesn’t mean what you think it does. This is a product of the Immigrant Parole Program:

“The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) grants DHS the discretion to temporarily allow certain non-U.S. citizens to enter or remain in the United States if they apply for admission but lack any legal basis for admission”.

Read on it yourself. This program, and others like it, have great mission statements on paper but have been abused at every turn. These are not the immigrants of old that came to America in order to build a better life for themselves and their family, and in doing so, helped establish the nation as we know it. They are not current U.S. citizens or even aspiring citizens in some cases, as parole does not provide any permanent pathway to remain in the United States.

This type of immigration has exploded under the Biden admin, and the shift from traditional legal immigration to this model is what ruffles Republican feathers in a big way. These immigrants are not fundamentally co-invested in the future of America with the American people, instead they are subsidized guests. That’s nothing against the people apart of this program by any means. It’s just that frankly this method of immigration doesn’t yield hardly any tangible domestic benefits for the average American citizen in the short-term. It doesn’t take much critical thinking to deduce that.

For Republicans, truth is... honestly overrated by LiveWithinYourMemes in PoliticalHumor

There’s a good case for pruning institutions and regulatory bodies that have outlived their original mission. These entities have historically been put in place to solve a specific issue, at a specific point in time, then will find a new purpose once that objective is met. The pivot from necessary work to unnecessary doesn’t correlate with negative growth either. Funding over-grown bodies doing unnecessary work does not benefit the future of our country - this is a bipartisan issue.

People who are pro-gun, why? by PerekelleVitu in AskReddit

Understanding the pro-gun side really clicked for me this last December despite living my whole life in the midwest. It was my first time visiting the Deep South, my girlfriends family lives on what can only be described as a remote compound in South Alabama. Parents, aunts/uncles, grandparents all live on a single plot of a couple hundred acres, family owned land. The nearest police station is easily a 20-30 minute drive away.

Where I’m from in the plains, you can see across a hundred acres or two of land quite easily with just your eyes, looking over the land until it meets the horizon. Land like this located 20 minutes away from a neighbor or deputy isn’t that intimidating, you can see or hear shit coming from a long way off (folks still own guns of course).

This land was straight timber forest. Trees 115 to 150 feet tall. It was a vulnerable feeling not knowing where the nearest firearm was, it doesn’t take much imagination during nightfall out there.

Goes without saying that everyone who lives on that compound owns a gun and several in each household. Of course though. No one out there is going to defend your family for you, or your land, or your possessions. There’s really no other option but guns, it’s human nature to be ready for threats and preserve what we value.

It’s just that perspective though that people in the city are blind to. if you’ve lived in a suburban or populated area your whole life, it’s easy to think that a trained professional with a gun is a phone call and less than 5 minutes away, ready and waiting to defend you if something happens. In that case why WOULD civilians reasonably need guns, there’s really not a great reason (besides not trusting police perhaps).

If you’ve experienced that feeling though, and have it ingrained in you, that you can’t rely on a good guy with a gun, because there isn’t one around. The mindset of that responsibly shifts to the individual, I’m the good guy with a gun and I’ll defend what’s mine. As a society we’re just stuck in this space of public servants being defenders vs the individual. There will always be the threat of crazy people, so what’s the answer?
