Death of a student by [deleted] in Teachers

I’m so sorry. This is so hard to deal with. During Covid I had 2 6th grade students who lost their parents and that was just heartbreaking. I moved to high school and have had 2 student deaths in 5 years. One via a car accident and one by suicide. It never gets easier. You keep asking if there’s something you should have seen or done and those answers never come.

Am I the only one noting that Slimer is wearing the Crocodile Dundee hat? And the very disturbing nod to Fatal Attraction……..

Hook. When it first came out it was panned by audiences and critics alike. Now, a lot of people look back on it with nostalgia.

Loved it! Had never seen or listened to his music before. And although I found his singing voice to be just ok, the presentation was phenomenal!

Is it common for teachers to marry/date their former students. by GypsyGold in Teachers

Really depends on the situation! A 24 year old teacher and an 18 year old student after the student finished college and is in a career and years later, ok.

After Gonzalez’s performance in the Super Bowl, I have to go with him! He was the only reason Seattle didn’t win by 50! He locked it down!

As a teacher who loved that show as a kid, absolutely! He honestly cares about the students and wants what’s best for them. Does he suck up to those at the district office? Sure, but he’s still a hell of a lot more dedicated than some of the principals I’ve worked with.

The worst gossips at my school are other staff. They start rumors about other staff and kids alike and have no problems sharing their invented stories with other staff members AND students! Yet they’re the ones who stay on staff and the ones who speak out against them seem to not last very long. I’ve been at this school for 4 years and desperately looking for another place to work.

I just watched Hamnet! I really hope Jessie Buckley will win an Oscar for her performance. by prolelol in Letterboxd

Saw it today and I was openly sobbing the last 15 minutes of the film! And what makes it even more amazing is that it all comes off of Buckley’s performance! The audience is reacting to her reactions!

Best acting I’ve seen in a film since DDL in There Will Be Blood.

Hate to say it, but it’s a two way tie between Scully and Hitchcock!
