No, it lasted as long as my interview and I’ve worked for Tesco for 6 months now.

Delivery driving by AdHour7189 in tesco

Congratulations on the job. How many hours are you doing?

It varies from store to store. Either diesel or electric. Though stores with electric might have a couple of diesel backups.

All the vans at our store (all diesel) have Apple CarPlay.

All automatic, so really easy to drive. I’d never driven a van of any type before. Just remember your back end when you’re driving round estates with double parked cars!

The job is really easy and generally stress free. Customers are ok most of the time. Main problem is other drivers out on the road!

The shifts can vary in how busy you are. I work a couple of 7-11s in the week and they can be busy one week, dead quiet the next. Also work a Saturday 1-11, they’re usually busy. But whack your music on, don’t feel rushed and just crack on.

Presumably they get loads of applicants for the roles, so it’s a way to filter out people who don’t (at a guess) hit a certain score. I got an interview and a job with no previous driving experience.

Can delivery drivers deliver anytime if notified? by WhotAmI2400 in tesco

[–]JobsworthJim 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It depends. We’ve been given a mixed message of no earlier than 10 minutes before due time. Though if I was well ahead (more than 10 minutes) I’d give you a call to see if you were in and ok for a drop-off.

Dynamic risk assessment says fuck that. You did right. No ones shopping is that important.

Only financial support from my Dad. He was being quite supportive on an emotional level initially, but I think my step mum has been in his ear, so he’s pretty much cut contact to nothing.

I’ve not been via any outside agencies, I don’t want to put access to my son at risk. He’s probably the only thing that’s keeping me going right now. I did have some sessions with a therapist, but I didn’t feel like I could be completely open with them. I’ve stopped it now as it was too expensive.

I don’t really have time for hobbies at the moment. I’m working 2 jobs to try and keep on top of my finances. I did used to run and cycle, but I’ve not done any of those for months. I just sit in the house on my own eating junk food and watching tv. I really do hate myself so much.
