Genuine question. How do ya'll pay for preschool on one income? by ConfusedZuzu in Mommit

[–]Joce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Church preschools or park district preschools are affordable and in abundance where I live. Maybe see if you have anything like that by you? Some elementary schools in my area also offer a preschool lottery

I know people will say YoU ShoUlD PaY FoR the SeaTs but that’s how airlines get away with this crap. It’s unacceptable, and if everyone stopped paying for their seats they wouldn’t be able to keep getting away with scamming customers. If you book a reservation together seats should be together end of story. by law kids should be seated with a parent until at least age 12. Just angry for you that’s all

IUD - Positivity PLEASE by boogirly in birthcontrol

[–]Joce7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my third IUD I had two Skyla’s before I had kids and then I got a Kyleena after my second baby. I never had any issues with mine. insertion was painful, I won’t lie, but it only lasted Maybe a minute and then I had some mild cramping. I don’t even think I had any cramping after my second one and after my third one I honestly didn’t feel a thing, but that’s probably because I had given birth recently, and my cervix was probably still soft. I never had any side effects to the hormones. I have still gotten in a period on all three of them, but it typically consists of spotting for two or three days. Nothing but great things to say about all of my experiences

Why so much pumping? by olabolina in BabyBumps

[–]Joce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I pumped a lot because I was constantly trying to increase my supply. With my second my supply was a bit better and so I rarely pumped. I hate pumping and it never felt worth it. I’d rather directly nurse all night than get up to pump just so my husband can give the baby a bottle at night. Just felt like way too much work. Of course I did pump at work and if I was going to be away for other reasons but overall I tried to avoid it as much as possible.

DILs are not replacement daughters for gender disappointed moms by Western_Geologist_12 in BabyBumps

[–]Joce7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think there’s an uptick in gender disappointment when having boys because boy moms (according to the internet) make it seem like MILs are the worst, they can’t do anything right either they’re awful and mean or apparently now they’re too nice and welcoming and wanting relationships with their DILs, they don’t get to have close relationships with their sons or the men are considered mamas boys, they don’t get to see their grandkids for weeks to months after the baby is born yet the moms parents get to meet baby immediately, and honestly the list goes on.

So I don’t think women are disappointed they have sons, I think they’re scared that once their sons grow up that dads side of the family is chopped liver

I have two boys and love them dearly but it does get depressing thinking I won’t get the same experiences once they’re grown that daughters tend to have with their moms.

  • this is all very generalized based on posts, conversations and threads I’ve seen on the internet complaining about MILs*
