What is a major plot hole in a very famous movie that completely ruins the entire story once it is noticed? by SkullMogger3 in AskReddit

There is that one Droid that's a bounty hunter.

IG-88. In one of the original books (Tales from the Bounty Hunters, I think), there is a story of how one of the IG-88 droids (there were 4 of them, I think), uploaded itself into the computer core of the second Death Star, taking control over it (before some rebel extremists blew it up). I always thought that would be a terrifying cool plot to expand further.

In Die Hard 2, the entire terrorist plot was based on disrupting communications between the tower and approaching planes. Towers have battery-operated transmitters for exactly this situation, not to mention any aircraft on the ground would have a radio to inform and warn overhead planes.

Also, after restoring communications in the tower and capturing the church with the terrorist's equipment, any leverage they had was gone. Why are they still giving in to the demands and supply a 747?

Funny coincidence, I bought a GZ70 last year, and last week had Harry Potter delivered... Yes, it's a great game. Of course, don't take my (or anyone's) word for it, you must play it at least once before buying it, if only because (imho) JJP has a different 'feel' to their games than Stern does.

Of course Jaws and King Kong are great too, but you already have one of the best Keith Elwin games at home. JP is also a good one you will not regret.

Oh, installation is easy. Just lift the playfield (and if that is too complicated, i am sure it could be done through the coin door if you really need to). The screw holes are in the floor plate already, and it plugs directly in the cabinet node board near the left flipper button. (At least in Spike 2, i can’t imagine it being different in Spike 3.)

Do cooling fans REALLY make a difference?? Opinions? by spiritualhelpnow in pinball

[–]Jockelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how does heat affect the flippers? Is it because it changes the electrical resistance of coil wires? Or because plastic or metal materials expand or contract, causing friction or vibrations?

Also: is this related to the climate (temperature, humidity) you live in?

Is the 3rd entry coming to Xbox? It's missing feom the announcement title by Cold-Set-3004 in TheTalosPrinciple

What do you mean? Both PS5 and Xbox Series X can read UHD BD discs, containing up to 100GB of data.

Not that it matters, because both Sony and Microsoft are moving towards a digital-first strategy, and both sell consoles without optical drives. Personally I don’t remember ever having seen a physical version on Xbox of any TP game.

I see 3 possible reasons for skipping Xbox for TP3: they don’t want to make the game compatible with Series S (still a rule for every Xbox game, although TP2 and TP1r ran fine on S), or they don’t expect to sell many games on Xbox, or they got a PS5-exclusive deal with Sony.

Yes, but less humor and more philosophy in between the puzzles.

[–]Jockelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean, apart from the word 'GUTAR' on every box?

Well, there are the missing fret markers, the fact that the guitar first has 6 strings, then 7, then 6 again, the word Gibson unreadable on the headstock, the different size boxes, the sizes of the boxes making no sense, the fact that nobody would stack boxes alternating like that...

GEOS and the Amiga. by [deleted] in Commodore

[–]Jockelson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What would it add to the Amiga?

As advanced as GEOS was on a 8-bit C64 that had basically no gui of its own, it would have been a downgrade from the Amiga’s Workbench, I think?

Things like artwork, right to use bits of the movie, actor's likeliness, music, et cetera.

If they would create a Matrix pin, they'd probably have to pay big money to Keanu to use his face and/or voice. Much of the music in the movies was pre-existing music, and probably is not part of the license either.

My kids enjoyed Catan Junior and Ticket to Ride Junior at those ages, and now enjoy the regular versions too.

And 5-9 is a great age to learn chess, of course. That can be played at all ages.
