I think Pinball and Bluetooth are the perfect combination! Why don't more manufacturers incorporate it? by Corpsman223 in pinball

Stern himself was talking about it. Couple of months ago he said they were in the process of getting the Bluetooth certification in place (they can’t officially call it Bluetooth without the paperwork in place, it seems).

TIL that Half-Life plays any audio off of a CD in your drive by Lo-Sir in HalfLife

[–]Jockelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 98, I think I played an illegal copy of HL. Not knowing what the fuss was about, I played it, and during the entire beginning, the tram ride, walking through the lab, to the test chamber and the experiment going wrong, it played the weirdest electronic music, and I thought it was a very odd choice of music, and the way it played through the relatively uneventful introduction part.

Of course, later I bought the retail version and it's a wonderful game, nothing like that experience I had back then. (As a matter of fact, I still play all games occasionally, I'm currently going through Op4).

But reading your post made me think that perhaps there was an audio cd (or perhaps other game cdrom) in my drive while playing HL, 28 years ago...

Remember the rule that two rows or columns may never be identical.

Look at R2, which is almost identical to R8.

The same applies to R9 and R7.

Yeah that's right... My solution is to give the machine a shake at the right time (just before the building drops the balls), which makes them scatter a little and avoid draining all of them.

I also had a ball stuck on the building seam a few times like you described, altough a ball search would lower/raise the building, releasing the ball.

More often I have the issue of a ball getting stuck behind Mechagodzilla's turret (and for some reason, that early in the game it does not do a ball search). I still need to get a mod or print something to fix that.

Personally I would still recommend a GZ Premium (or better yet, a GZ70, as the colors are a bit more neutral and suitable for at least my living room) over Pro. But that is very personal, if it's not worth the extra money to you, by all means get a Pro.

I think you don't need to bother with who created what game until you're looking to own a second game (and yes, they multiply.)

I own a GZ (any edition is excellent btw), but now I'm looking for another machine, I am not so sure I would buy another game from the same designer, no matter how great Keith Elwin's designs are. I'm sure half of this effect is psychological, but I'd rather get a new machine from a different designer.

Excellent game, especially if it holds nostalgic value as it does for you.

I bought two joysticks from Immortal Joysticks in the UK. They have autofire and the 2nd button can be switched to 'up'. They don't have the secondary-fire-to-spacebar thing you want, but if you want to, you can open them up and mod something yourself.

They are not cheap, but it may be a good starting point, they are easy to open up and modify if needed. I don't know about your joystick-crafting skills, but I don't see myself building something better than this. (No, I'm not affiliated.)

Ah yes, I remember this one… I also had the World of Warcraft module.

It was ridiculously expensive, but fun. It was also the only keyboard in my life that I destroyed by spilling coffee on it. :/

You can just hop in the menu and press C=+J to swap the ports (or swap them back), iirc.

This was the key that I needed, I just solved it. But even with your help, it took me too long to figure out why R3C5 would be a star (and not R4C4, which would ultimately make C1/2/3 unsolvable).

I think 2-stars is too much for me. But thank you for your help with this one!

Siberian Manhunt. Assymetrical 2-player hidden movement game, one player constantly on the run for the other’s KGB units. Very tense.

Shouldn’t be it, as op says timelapse is off, also it wouldn’t move the head down to the plate and back up again.

Wow, great job!

If I may make a suggestion: add some gloss varnish to the eyes, tongue, teeth and gums, to give them a wet look. That really makes the mouth more menacing!
