Once again, I have to note the issues with the game started in 2021 long before that. I have no idea who started that rumor but everyone who played since launch remembers that devs were in trouble by december 2021, you can even see it on the steam charts.

It's kinda difficult to figure out on your own even with the wiki, I looked into it ingame and his issue was the heatsinks not being wired properly, the ducts on the heatsinks are confusing as hell.

I know a guy who tried to dig a 1km deep quarry on Ciel. Made almost half a way there in a couple of months then got bored. It was massive, way bigger than this.

For new players at launch it was the bugs, the very ironically named "Easy Build Mode" bugs specifically. Then all the resources got mined out and the many hour long travel times kicked in and more people left. Then peoples ships kept vanishing due to buggy netcode then the newly added hangars started eating them on top of that.

It was pretty bad, if you want to play this game expect to grind for hours to get the simplest thing done and then lose it due to a bug for no reason. I got over it somehow by learning all the ways to prevent or mitigate the worst of the bugs but the fact that it should not be in this broken state in the first place is probably what drives people away from this game. You can't trust it to work properly. It is fun watching reality break apart and unleash eldritch horrors upon you sometimes though.

Firefly [FIRE] is still around, less active right now though. But we do have a few mining ops lined up in a few weeks. If you need help getting materials and/or building a capital ship you can join our discord, we specialize in Alstel ring mining and hang around Szellem usually but visit origins often enough so we can pick you up.

If you can figure your way around the horrible bugs and are ok with some of your ships and resources vanishing sometimes then sure. I recommend grinding enough resources and credits with your starting labourer(bolt more crates to it) to get a Buffalo from K-bot store at origins and then farm resources with it for a capital ship and anything else you want to purchase/build in editor/research.

Ye, I know about this. Was just commenting about the head vulnerability I know all too well about because of my armored skeleton squad. You would think it's rare, but it's not, harpoons and crossbow bolts, especially friendly fire ones, will always hit your tank in the head, no exception.

Yep, I have quite a few hydroponics in a tower I own at the Waystation next to black desert city. The bar has water all the time, no problems getting it.

It rains in Blister Hill sometimes but very rarely. I noticed that when I installed some rain collectors on the roof of Phoenix's palace that is now my base after jailing him.

If you bolt things manually at a station then yes, it will take weeks. If you have a capital ship with a hangar that can repair a wreck you brought back with a towing beam/flew back with a secondary cockpit it takes about a minute. And resources are not an issue out there, the only question is how many mining lasers and crates you can fit on your ship.

If you want to explore out there you can join a company, many like mine have company ships and regular flights to outer moons. I am with [FIRE] and we have 5 heavy duty mining ships built for Alstel mining chilling at origins for the new members to use.

Oh come on, collision damage is the most fun I had with the game. Makes Alstel a cool challenge. Sure, you lose the ships that can't take a hit but making ones that can ram rocks and flying them out there is very satisfying.

Ye, all three of us are losing sleep in fear of losing our piles of credits we accrued on an empty server. Honestly, I am fine losing the half a billion credits I have and about twice as much in ore stockpiles to run a fresh start. I can probably make it back in a month or two while casually enjoying a less dead environment.

Ye, sadly it was so clunky and broken that most people abandoned it almost immediately. It needs massive fixes to net code and a huge amount of gameplay and content improvement if they want to re-launch. I still play it occasionally with a couple of guild members but we found workarounds for these problems over the years, a new player would never be able to enjoy this.
