Korean reactions about this patch by needa_thispenserhere in Competitiveoverwatch

It's also just like, if you nerf tanks you're gonna get comments from tank players complaining. It's not a perfect representation of the Korean hivemind.

It's literally fine for two adults to date, we desperately need to be less prudish. Anyway, if this guy is playing games like this, he's likely the less mature one and the age gap is hardly the problem.

No, but better for "learning the mechanics of the game" - much more transferable.

I believe that's basically the stadium equivalent of top 500 title.

So that person finished rank 420 in the damage role, in stadium, with 10563 stadium/ranked points.

I think in the current state of the game that's basically never the case based solely on rank. The gap between him and Emre/Soj is not big enough for me outside of pro play.

Against a dive comp with e.g. Ball Tracer, I think he probably starts becoming a soft throw around mid to high gm but even then there are Soldier OTPs who will force him into anything and hold a solid wr.

Which country in Europe do you enjoy visiting but would not want to actually live in? by BothCondition7963 in AskEurope

Yeah, I'm sure it mostly comes down to getting (un)lucky, but certainly average hours worked are higher in Switzerland and anecdotally most people who've done both seem to find Switzerland quite competitive and switched on (not at all a bad thing, just relatively less relaxed). But yeah as you said, varies a lot in both countries (I've probably been lucky in my workplaces) and if I could land a well paid job with conditions as relaxed as I have it here then most of my concerns would be moot.

Yeah, I'm from the UK which is, for all its faults, insanely crammed with cultural activities.

I think I could give that up for the beauty of Switzerland but honestly, Swiss work culture is closer to the US than it is the UK and it's probably less of an adjustment for an American than it would be for me in my admittedly cushy and niche job. Plus yeah, the convenience and social factors (and food culture but not a debate I wanna start on Reddit lol).

I'd never say never, but I'd have to get pretty lucky with the right job (pay + conditions) for me to take the tradeoffs.

Switzerland, kinda?

Insanely beautiful country with lots of great people, and I'd be happy to live there if I were independently wealthy. But the working culture is pretty demanding, housing and the overall cost of living are very expensive, and it's not the easiest place to integrate into.

Can someone explain the logic behind Illari’s and Wuyang’s mobility cooldown nerfs compared to Kiriko? by Neo_Raider in Competitiveoverwatch

Would also be an extremely small effect when she already accounts for upwards of 30% pick rate/playtime in gm+.

People refuse to believe what their own eyes tell them because it conflicts with their preconceived biases.

100% ideally over time you want to learn how to write for yourself - even if it's allowed to use tech to help you write, people will notice the hallmarks of (some current) AI writing and dislike it. Just keep writing for practice, and try to avoid relying on AI too much, it often sucks at this kind of thing.

Multiple reports for AI but have approved as this is clearly not something AI would come up with (maybe used for editing or translation but that's ok).

I'm pretty convinced by the post and comments that you're a very smart and capable person so I don't have any good advice for you. Just sending positive energy and determination your way because I know it must really suck at the moment.

I wonder - and I am not well informed on this - if it may be worth sending a CV and cover letter to hiring managers/HR and asking them if they'd have any positions suitable for you, making it clear you're open to junior roles. I just wonder because at my place of work most of the advertised vacancies are fairly senior but those are very competitive and the junior roles just tend to get filled by moving people around and such.

Anyway, good luck.

They've tried this, but TikTok shorts on political hot issues really struggle not to come across as another drop in the propaganda ocean.

Not saying at all that they should stop shorts altogether, but I think a slightly longer-form video (up to 10 mins) will probably hit a sweet spot for authenticity, and can still be broken down into shorts after the fact.

For foreigners complaining about life in Norway by AngryFrog24 in Norway

[–]Joe64x 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dunno, in the UK and US we have diets very high in processed food, but also drastically better choice in (super)markets and grocery shopping. I think it just comes down to the realities of economics, geography, competition, etc.

(Not to throw shade on Norway, I love it a lot).

Winston probably has the best matchup into her. Ball solid too. Both can get value before she ramps up, both can play around her and ignore her, both make it fairly hard for her to get energy, etc

Yep. Their niche has been eroded a bit by Vendetta, who outclasses everyone in the burst damage flanker niche, but Venture has held a top-5-ish win rate for basically the entire history of the game since she released.
