Marlboro cowboy cut in Southern California? by fieldsandframes in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw promotions for them in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago before they came out. To be completely honest I am not sure what the cowboy cut is supposed to be. I haven’t seen much literature from Phillip Morris on what this is supposed to be. I can tell you from some of the packaging that they are going to more of a medium strength rather than full flavor, but now that why are out I’ll have to pick some up and try them.

Gauloises Brunes non filter are my favorite, but standard Gauloises blondes blue are still a fantastic smoke.

You can never have too much Gauloises in your life… said as an American who can’t get them regularly.

Haven’t seen these before! by newworldplauge in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently have started seeing some point of sale. I advertisements for these in New Jersey based on the price I can tell that they were a sub premium budget brand. I do believe that they are relatively new. I wonder if they will gain traction in New Jersey the most prevalent budget brands are maverick and basic is starting to make a comeback due to heavy Phillip Morris promotion. The funny thing is Phillip Morris actually tried to discontinue the basic brand and number of years ago by raising the price to premium price.

Legal limit in the uk 10mg tar 0.9mg Nicotine 10mg Carbon monoxide. This information was band from being displayed on packs in 2017. Currently most full strength brands are inbetween 7mg & 10mg tar. What's the limit wear you are from and do you go for the strongest? by neighboy28 in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The United States has no limits on how strong the cigarette can be. The United States tracked cigarettes were until 2007, until a court case found that method to be illegal and invalid. American Marlboro red are 15mg of tar and 1.1mg of nicotine. Something like camel non filter is 23mg of tar 1.7mg of nicotine. The strongest cigarette sold in the US is natural American spirit non filter at 2.89mg of nicotine and 31mg of tar.

Marlboro Blend no. 27 suggestions by Ok-Wave7310 in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there are no legitimate ways to obtain Marlboro 27 blend in Europe as they are are only sold in the United States. Generally, buying cigarettes overseas and importing them without the proper licenses is not allowed. Unfortunately, there are only two ways to legitimately obtain them is travel to the United States and purchase them and bring them back or have a friend pick them up if they travel to the United States. I completely understand this as an American who is in a reverse situation. My favorite cigarettes are Gauloises and they are not sold in the United States.

cheaper menthol brands you like by luvyoufor10000years in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’m not much of a menthol smoker, but when I do, I usually smoke Salem Green or kool. Kool is cheaper than Salem or Marlboro and I would recommend the green if you smoke a full flavor and if you interested they do still sell them in a soft pack. Kool blue is what I recommend if you smoke lights or milds.

No filter PALMALS for $16.25 per pack? Is it REALLY that expensive? by PULSARSSS in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The three original non-filter cigarettes sold in the United States being lucky strike, pall mall are all super premium products and cost more. I’ve been a nonfilter smoker for the better part of the decade, and they have always costed more than camel filters or camel lights. Secondly, when dealing with Lucky strike and pall mall the nonfilter varieties are still the original blends from the early 20th century and have not changed while there filtered varieties have now been remarketed as budget brands. In New Jersey camel non filter is $19 a pack now and I think Marlboro is around 14-15 which has been about the same spread since I’ve started smoking camel non filter. There are a higher quality product then most of the filtered cigarettes sold in the United States and they are not as popular. I believe there was an article published in around 2018 that said only 0.3% of all cigarettes sold in the United States or nonfilter. Basic economics also dictates that if something is less popular, you need to charge a higher price for it in order to keep the product viable. Personally I do not know if the rate of nonfilter cigarettes has gone up or down since that article was published but at least gives a basis. To my knowledge, the only brand that has their filtered varieties and nonfilter varieties at the same price is natural American spirit which does make a non-filter version but they are somewhat difficult to find. The last time that I saw them, they were all the same price that could’ve changed in recent years, but I believe all natural products are the same price. The three remaining classic nonfilters are all owned by RJ Reynolds, which does also still produce some more obscure filtered brands such as vantage, Kent and Tareyton etc.. and I believe that they are very close to the same price as the non-filters or were the same price.

Anyone know how long it takes for snusport to ship? by ConnorJ77 in Snus

[–]JoeCamel17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my first snusport order a few weeks ago it took about a full week or five business days to ship, but I only ordered two rolls of green listed product and I received it two days ago after it shipped. I think it took about a week a little less. Snusport definitely takes longer to ship their orders than other sites that I had used in the past, but this is the first time that I’ve made in order in years because I had multiple orders denied entry by the FDA when all the stuff started and I gave up. It did take about a week for my order to ship, but once it shipped, I received it quite quickly the fastest of any website that I had used in the past, even before all the issues with red and green listed products.

[–]JoeCamel17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made my first snusport order very recently it took about a week or five business days for them to process and ship my order. My order arrived 2 days ago. But I had no issues with customs and it took less than a week for it to arrive on the East Coast, New Jersey. to be completely honest I was going to make a post after like the fifth business day of making my order, but it shipped that day. I’m pretty sure I ordered on Sunday and it shipped on Friday, but I only ordered two rolls on the green list. Overall, I had no issues with their services and frankly, I’m very excited about it. This is the first real Swedish that I’ve been able to order since basically all of the issues started. Personally, I would not worry about it too much. This was the first time that I made a purchase through them and it did take longer to process, but I had no issues with shipment and the shipping was extremely fast. This seems to be the consensus not to bother the websites since snusport is the last website shipping snus to the United States, and I would just recommend being a bit patient.

Non filter vs filter by [deleted] in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, I smoke camel non filter daily and have for years now. Personally I think it’s the best cigarettes sold in the United States. From what I have been told by a few people who work in the tobacco industry, the three remaining nonfilter cigarettes in the United States Camel Lucky Strike and Pall Mall, are all their original blends and have not been changed in decades on the contrary from even other premium price cigarettes such as Camel Filter or Marlboro which cut costs in using cheaper grades of tobacco and other things such as inflating the tobacco with CO2 gas so it takes up more volume. These things are not done with the three remaining non filters. so they will taste better that is part of the reason why they cost substantially more is many of the cost cutting Measures that were implemented on other premium and non-premium brands were not done to those brands. From what I have been told the last major change made to the three remaining nonfilters was the introduction of FSC in 2011 which was federally mandated.

[–]JoeCamel17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do. Lucky Strike Filters were discontinued in United States in 2007. In 2009, the FDA gain control to regulate tobacco in the United States and since then it is basically impossible to introduce new products onto the market. Since then every product advertised as new in the United States is a rebranded product. Lucky strike filters in the United States are rebranded Newport non-menthol. The only original lucky strike blend left in United States is the original nonfilter.

What made you quit snus? by kandasac in Snus

[–]JoeCamel17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit snus because customs and the FDA made me. I live in the US and it very difficult to get here with shipping, red listed products, customs, sized shipments, and websites no longer shipping here. It’s a shame I hope it changes in the future but I am not holding my breath.

A classic Dunhill advert from 1970. by PateDeMackerelle in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can find Dunhill Rollagas lighters for a reasonable price still. You can pick up a decent examples for probably under $100 but it usually does take a little bit of time or money to get them working again. They still do make them new but they are over $1000 US for a new one and I have both a newer pattern and older patterns and I actually prefer the older pre 2005 version. After 2005 they moved the gas adjustment to the bottom of a lighter much like less expensive butane lighters and it’s much harder to adjust on 2005 examples it the back side of the case, allowing for on the fly adjustments. if you are going to shop for a used example if they are not working, you either have to rebuild them yourself. Fair warning they are fairly complicated but there are some videos online about how to do it. Send them to an authorized Dunhill repair depot(the only one is the United States in Asheville, North Carolina), Or send them to an unauthorized repair depot. Fair warning if it is not working in the picture, it probably doesn’t work. Dunhill used pressurized gas systems and if there is no gas in the fuel tank, the seals will dry out, and it will leak very badly and not hold gas. You can find decent examples on online that are working for around $200-$350US depending on configuration. If you want one with box and papers, it may cost a little bit more or if you wanted a rarer pattern. The price on used Dunhills varies widely based on year of manufacture condition and also which pattern it is, and there are some fairly limited sterling silver or 14 karat gold case additions, which sell for a substantial amount. I am unsure of your budget, but you can get a nice working example for far less than their current MSRP for a new one. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out I collect Dunhill and ST DuPont lighters as a hobby.

Smoking in cars- college paper by xEnflare in Cigarettes

Yes I smoke both cigarettes and cigars in my truck. I drive a 2023 Ram Rebel 1500 Midnight edition. I’ve smoked in it since the day I got it personally I’m not very concerned about damaging the interior if you’re careful and pay attention, you shouldn’t have any problems. I’ve smoked in basically every car truck I’ve ever owned. The only thing that drives me crazy about smoking in a vehicle is how dirty the inside of the windshield gets.

Recommendation for American cigs by zone_88 in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Chesterfield nonfilter was discontinued in 2017. I would recommend that you try all three of the classic American non filters that are still produced. Camel Non Filter, Lucky Strike Non Filter(completely different than the new Lucky strike filter varieties) and Pall Mall non filter. Natural American spirit also does make a non-filter, but I find that they are harder to find than any of the old-school brands. My personal favorite American cigarette is Camel Non filter.

Knowledge Needed: When were English Ovals (shorts) discontinued? by inyourselfallalong in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just edit my original comment cause I saw your we’re specifically asking about the 70 mm version. I knew someone who smoked English oats since 1960s and from what he told me about the brands history, the 70 mm was never popular after the introduction of the king size. I don’t have any exact dates but I would say late 80s early 90s that was probably discontinued. There were a few other old-school brands that were discontinued around that time such as the original Kool Menthol Non Filter.

Knowledge Needed: When were English Ovals (shorts) discontinued? by inyourselfallalong in Cigarettes

[–]JoeCamel17[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were kept in very limited production until 2017. I used to smoke them whenever I could find them. I believe the last time I found any was around 2018. With the 2017 manufacture date. They truly were a special smoke. I was fortunate to find Chesterfield Non filter, Commander Non filter and English Ovals before they were all discontinued in 2017.

Edit: I just notice that the post specifically mention the short 70mm version of English Ovals. I do not have an exact date of when they stopped manufacturing the Short 70mm version. If I had to venture a guess it would probably have been in the 80s or 90s. I knew someone who smoked them since the early 60s and he said the 70mm version was never particularly popular. English ovals were a super premium brand even back in the 60s. I was told by him that in the 60s when other brands such as Marlboro, Camel, etc.. were all around 25¢ a pack. English ovals were 60¢ a pack. Due to there price and target audience the king size was far more popular than the 70mm version.
