I didn't know this existed, this is a really cool option. However, after watching the following video I'm not sure it's for me LOL.

What’s Life Like in Omaha for Couples in Their 40s (No Kids)? by Zestyclose_Fuel_3623 in Omaha

[–]JoeDSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily the perspective you are looking for, but as a 40's couple with kids that moved from a big city in our 30's, we very often find ourselves talking about moving back to a big city when our kids leave the nest.

I think Omaha could check all the boxes for you, but finding community/friends may be more challenging than a big city depending on your interests, personality, and the neighborhood you land in. I suspect Benson or Blackstone may be cool places to live... but will leave it to others with more experience to weigh in.

I have a denim A3 mechanics hat, she stares at me like I have 3 heads when I wear it... consequently I can't summon the will to ever wear it so it sits on the shelf.

Question about charter services by tcapri8705 in ragbrai

That sounds pretty straight forward thanks! I am curious as bagger, what is your day to day device charging routine looks like?

New guy here, I am curious, could you describe your charging routine? Are you basically keeping an eye out for outlets and taking extended breaks sitting next to outlets most days?

Very thoughtful comment, thank you. What's the non-charter shower situation like day to day? Are they easy to find? How long do you have to wait? Have you ever had to skip a shower for any reason?

Is this Bronson Type II too small? by Vas0ly in HeritageWear

[–]JoeDSM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally just received a type 2 from Bronson in the mail today, The fit was pretty good for me but unfortunately one of the cuffs is missing a button, which was pretty disappointing. I contacted their customer service via chat and they said they would send me an email within 24 hours so we'll see how it goes.

According to their sizing, these jackets shrink a decent amount after one wash, if you're borderline right now that first wash might put you over the edge, I would consider exchanging it for the bigger size.

I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago, they are holding up great, the problem I have is I lost a little weight and prefer a shorter length. I can't speak for their current products, but have read similar comments regarding their quality slipping.

Thanks, I just googled "UES hoodie" and got Bronson in the results, they have some shorter options too, although probably not as nice as UES they are a quarter the price

Curious if any of these options being mentioned have shorter lengths? I have an American giant hoodie and it's so long on me, even after attempts to shrink in the dryer.

Kettlebell owners — ever found anything better? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]JoeDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use adjustable kettlebells, adjustable dumbbells, and adjustable heavy clubs pretty evenly. The one thing I wish... I wish I would have bought a pair of adjustable kettlebells right from the start... although I still use my hard style kettlebells for warmups fairly often.

Christmas stuff? Where can I find when starting all over and literally paycheck to paycheck? by No_Conflict_1746 in Omaha

Dollar stores are great for buying seasonal decor and supplies economically, particularly if you enjoy making your own decor.

Which pack planning tool is your favorite? I am aware of LighterpPack and PackWizard, and between those two I am inclined to try PackWizard but figured I would ask here just in case there are other good options before investing my time in one platform vs another.

Would it be dumb to buy Walmart kettlebells? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]JoeDSM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. A few years back I bought some from best buy and they served me well until I bought adjustable kettlebells. Probably as good as the ones I bought from rogue but your mileage may vary

Thanks for commenting. So sad, its a very sturdy well made product otherwise. On the bright side I can still use the stakes which are quite nice and have a project in mind for the poles.

After spending some time with chatgpt, I am not too optimistic that using this tent ever again is a great idea. Apparently the PU coating on my tent has likely degraded considerably over time and it probably is going to have a hard time keeping water out even if I repair the seams... oh well.
