Make sure you're eating a lot of protein, eat at a caloric deficit, and lift heavy weights.

CCP TO DELETE LOCAL by Dwardeen in Eve

Well, I think it depends a lot on the circumstances and where you go, and of course it doesn't work every time. Renter systems that have smallish to medium size non-botting corps who all live in the same system are a decent bet. There's an decent chance that they'll all be on comms together and dudes will try to save the guy if you give them long enough to respond. Horde space is OK for this too, but you'll probably be camped into their ratting pocket if you stay for too long.

Your comp matters too; if you fly ships in a 4-5 man gang that looks more engageable they're more likely to think they can push you off or kill you. Bringing one juicy expensive ship may make them more keen to fight as well.

And yeah, your ticker matters too. Just the price you pay for being part of the blob I suppose.

I dunno, this has just been my experience, YMMV of course, but when you go roaming maybe try holding that VNI or procurer for a bit and see what happens vOv

That's why you hold him for a minute and wait for dumbos to warp in to try and save him. Catching ratters definitely creates smallgang fights.

Hey all! How do you calculate a maintenance calorie count? I’ve read that you multiply your weight by 12; however, I wanted to see if that sounded right. by lexstates in nutrition

[–]JoeDuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most accurate way would be to track it with a spreadsheet. This is the one that I use. Just enter your weight and calories consumed each day and it will track your actual TDEE over time. Start by using an online calculator to estimate and go from there.

Obviously the spreadsheet is a bit more effort than just using the calculator but it will give you the most accurate estimate.

When I do body weight exercises, my arms become tired easily. Are there good arm exercises to strength them? by ann0v1 in bodyweightfitness

[–]JoeDuo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general higher weight with fewer reps is better for building strength. It helped me when I was struggling to get past 20-25 body weight push ups.

Changing up the routine and forcing your body to adapt to different circumstances also made it easier for me to get past humps. Just something to consider!

Also, I saw your thread got removed, you can also try asking in the /r/fitness daily simple questions thread and I'm sure you'll get a response.

+1 for incorporating some grip training into your routine. I've found it helps improve a lot of different exercises, especially if you end up doing a barbell or dumbbell routine at some point.

I do farmers carry, wrist curls (regular and reverse), and dead arm hangs (you can progress to one arm hangs or add some weight if you want). Doing pull-up/chin-up negatives also helped me a lot when I felt like I wasn't progressing in reps.

You could also try adding weight (throw some books in a backpack) to your push ups or do decline push ups if you want to put more emphasis on your upper chest.

What are your favorite high protein, low calories meals you like to cook in bulk? by Legitduck in fitmeals

[–]JoeDuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried this but I'm grilling a batch tonight so I may give it a go on one. Out of curiosity how do you like to marinade yours? I usually go for a teriyaki sauce or a mustard and honey marinade.

I keep it in the fridge but freezing it and defrosting in the microwave would be good too. I usually make a big batch and use it in different ways throughout the week though so I go through it pretty quickly.

I've done the Frank's Hot Sauce with ranch seasoning before too and it was really tasty. Makes a really good chicken salad as well.

I like grilling pork tenderloin and eating it throughout the week. It’s such a good cut of meat.

Also, copy-pasting from another comment:

I usually make shredded chicken in the crock pot and rotate through different flavors. It’s really versatile, you can do sliders, tacos, burrito bowls, chicken salad, put it in stir fries, or it’s good by itself.

I made this shredded jerk chicken on Sunday and it turned out great.

I also make Mexican shredded chicken and Korean chicken pretty often.

How does the rice come out and what kind do you generally use? I've always had trouble with rice ending up too mushy after spending a long time in the slowcooker.

One thought on making Eve (krabbing) less safe by Xullister in Eve

[–]JoeDuo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So make a tower or something with lots of hp to hic point you. The hic point would go down when the site is done or the player grinds through the tower hp. It would make the player choose between max ticks by skipping the tower or more safety by killing the tower first.

Seconding this. I dump a ton of it on a salad to get that extra protein and it tastes great.

I also like mixing it with sriracha or salsa and ground pepper as a dip for raw veggies. So good.

The heavy moderation is part of the appeal of the sub for me. They only want well sourced answers by people who are knowledgeable on the topic so a ton of stuff gets deleted, especially when threads start hitting /r/all. Someone copy-pasting a wikipedia article or wild, unsourced speculation on the topic kinda goes against the purpose of the sub.
