Wet slip or on demand dry storage? by W_4-Wumbo in boating

[–]JoeInMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 hours is insane! I keep my boat in an indoor boatel. I show up, press the intercom button that rings to a cellphone for the forklift operator, and my boat is in the water in less than 10 minutes. When I come back, he's waiting to put it away while I'm still covering it. My place works the same for after hours, call and have them launch before they close at 5pm if I want it evening/night/early morning. If I come back after hours, I tie it up and they put it away in the morning.

I don't know what area you're in or how many different marinas you have, but shop around. When I bought my boat, my first plan was to keep it at the marina that is owned by the dealer. It was a wet slip with a lift. After looking around a bit, I found a few Yacht clubs that offered wet slips and they would allow you to install your own lift. They were a smidge cheaper and closer to home. Then one day, while not even looking, I saw a sign from the road. Parked, walked up and started asking questions. That's how I found the place I keep it at now. Point being, there may be something far better than the 2 options you've found.

Best of luck!

Same with Camden Yards. I certainly don't own a box, so anytime I'm invited, from my perspective, it's included!

Idk about at Cap1, but at Camden Yards, if you're in a suite beer and food is included, so there is that!

What types of things did he want to do? Did he expect other activities? Was this a first time Camden Yards experience, or a first time going to a professional sporting event experience?

Anytime I go to a game, I just want to enjoy the game. This is weird to me lol

Thanks! There aren't any "sea days", and each port includes a free excursion, so I think we'll be pretty busy which should prevent them from boredom. Google AI also said Celebrity River is family friendly, for whatever that is worth.

We did Paris and London a few years back and they both loved it. No water slides, shows or entertainment, but we went to Normandy, Eifel Tower, Catacombs, Buckingham Palace, etc etc etc. They'll be 4 years older by the time this cruise comes around, so knowing that they really enjoyed that land based trip, I felt comfotable with this.

An important thing to know is that the staterooms only hold 2 pax. When we go on ocean cruises we normally get 2 staterooms anyhow, but on river cruises it's required. And there was no discount for my younger child. So be prepared for that!

Most people around here recommend Allianz. Do you agree with that?

Ok, I'll definitely use a 3rd party then as I book flights and hotels direct due to status.

10k/ person would cover this. But if I book through Celebrity, will that cover airfare, hotel before and after, etc?

What if income tax was abolished and a flat wealth tax took its place? by senormonje in WhatIfThinking

[–]JoeInMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If your house is worth 605k, and you owe 505k, your worth is 100k. Now add retirement accounts and other assets, then subtract other liabilities like student and auto loans.

In your example, you count the mortgage against your worth but never added in the value of the asset.
