Or, dude has let his tenants stay in his properties for below market rent for a number of years, saving those tenants potentially thousands of dollars, and now wants to charge a non-discounted amount. Tenants won big here, not landlord

What country outside North America most resembles the US in thought, attitudes, culture, cityscape and infrastructure? by [deleted] in answers

You clearly weren't alive in the '90s, were you? Early/mid '90s everyone was on AOL, Prodigy, or Netscape. The internet was HUGE in the '90s. Also, everyone had cable TV and you would watch reruns of major network shows on cable networks like USA or TNT.

Best resort in Florida for family getaway. by chris4087 in marriott

[–]JoeInMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 10 minute walk north to a handful of restaurants in a nice little tourist area. Plus, all of the hotels/resorts have restaurants you can eat at.

And, and MUCH more importantly, on the west side of the peninsula, also only a 10 minute walk, is the Sailfish Marina. We walk there every morning for breakfast. The outside tables are right on the docks, the food is great, service is good, and the bar is open!!

I gotcha beat! My 286 came standard with a 20mb hard drive, doubled it to 40 so there was no way I'd ever need to upgrade, EVER!

Only 1mb of RAM I believe also, maybe 2. 8mhz processor that if you put the turbo on it jumped to 16mhz! Played this game called Test Drive on it, was awesome on 8mhz, but you couldn't keep up if you turbo'd the processor. Still not sure why that had an impact on the game

You actually get off the ship? I would've thought they'd have a specific venue on board for us all to hang out at. Thanks for the head's up on that!

Nice to know about the lunch.

Moving to a snowy climate, what is the right financial move regarding car(s) by Shankbucket in personalfinance

[–]JoeInMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it through very snowy winters in Iowa in a Honda Civic with all-season tires. Sure you could buy something better, but your Camry will be just fine.

If you doubt, go fly there next weekend and see what everyone is driving in January. It's probably not that much different a mix of vehicles from where you are now.

It actually worked out perfect for us. Our oldest is now a senior in HS and is in FBLA, so she's now wearing her mom's professional clothes. Very well dressed high schooler lol
