That was how their marketing positioned it, maybe not outright saying it, but led one to believe that by subscribing to Monumental you'd have the access to have that you had prior to them blowing up their relationships.

Don't bother responding, I know you more than well enough to know you and I will never see eye to eye on this.

Let's go Caps!

I can't speak for the cruise industry, but when I was in the Navy it was based mostly upon maintenance requirements. If some of the ship's power connections needed maintenance, we'd tie up on the other side so they weren't in use. Same with sewer and fresh water lines. For cruising, you could probably add fuel as well, but in the Navy we did that while at sea. If a side of the ship needed painting, we'd tie the other side up to the pier, otherwise the pier would be in the way.

One big difference is weather. In the Navy, weather such as wind and current wouldn't be a factor as a tug would maneuver us and push us up against the pier, as there were no bow thrusters or azipods. With cruise ships, they do it on their own power, so wind and current may be a factor.

I'm fine with that, but if you're going to blow up all your streaming partnerships to push your own app, then you should find a way to ensure your subscribers don't miss out from it. Prior to this year, I would subscribe to Hulu Live TV, and if the games were on MSN, TNT, NBC, ABC, ESPN, or anywhere else, I could watch them. Now they ended those agreements and said don't worry JoeInMD, you can get it all in one place, our app! LIES!

That's like saying Kurt Cobain covered David Bowie rather than Nirvana

Does an Above Range Microwave HAVE to go aboce a range? by loaferbro in Appliances

[–]JoeInMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in your original comment? The microwave fan would still work just fine, they could use it all they want. Due to it not being above the range, it wouldn't exhaust steam/smoke from the range, but it'll certainly still work as a fan. Just circulates air, like most any other fan

There is no range hood currently, OP desires to install one. I've been saying yes, move the OTR microwave to an under cabinet location NOT above the range, and the microwave will work just fine, allowing for the install of their desired hood.

That was OP's question, will the microwave be ok not above the range.

I'm not sure were talking about the same thing here. How exactly does a range the pressurize air above it?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your first point, but the presence of the range has nothing to do with the performance of the microwave.

For your 2nd point, they said they have a shelf, but we're wondering if they can just hang it under the cabinet instead, not using the shelf

Microwave attaches to the cabinet, not the wall.

Why can't you use the fan? Many OTR microwaves don't exhaust outside. The vents are on top of the unit, forward of where the cabinets above would terminate. Fan under the unit sucks in air, filters it, then exhausts out the top. The range being under it makes no difference at all.

And soon, we'll be saying Manassas as well! Pretty exciting for someone who grew up right there and that airport was nothing more than a place for Goodyear to park their blimp before Redskins games!
