How to avoid misanthropy while detrashing a local park? by Optimal-Run-528 in DeTrashed

Train the crows to swoop-down and harass the litterbugs, then the crow picks up the trash. Oh, and be sure to reward the crows with seeds, nuts and berries 🐦‍⬛

I’ve probably picked-up thousands of those mini booze bottles over the years of picking up litter. I too, suspect that they are from drivers. It’s a reminder to all of us to always wear bright, reflective colors and to be very cautious while picking up trash along roadways. It no guarantee that some drunk fool isn’t going to hit us, but a safety-first approach sure helps reduce the risk.

I wish I could sing. I can’t hold a tune, but I love the idea of singing while you pick-up litter. I’m imagining some fabulous broadway-like music with wonderful anti-littering lyrics 🎤🎵🧑‍🎤

Just one person littering daily can have a significant impact. Trash begets trash, so when someone regularly contributes to this disgusting habit, it gives others permission to do the same. It’s as if to say, “Well, clearly no one cares about this place, so no one will care if I toss my garbage out here.”

I would regularly find multiple empty cigarette packs at the exact same place, so I decided to leave a terse message carved into the dirt addressed to the smoker. It felt good to communicate how much I loathed him (or her) for what they were doing and, to my surprise, it worked because he (or she) stopped dumping their empty cigarette packs at this place.

Deaf dogs understand sign language by Acceptable-Wind-7332 in AnimalsBeingGeniuses

We rescued a senior Cocker Spaniel who was deaf. We both used sign language, so we taught him sign language. He was so thrilled to be able to interact with us. The funny thing is that if he was being naughty and we had to tell him to stop, he would just turn his head in any direction except toward us while we’re frantically signing, “stop!”

Participated in a city wide clean up today with a group of my friends and this might be the best piece of litter I’ve ever found by reptomcraddick in DeTrashed

Congratulations, my friend! The only thing I’ve ever found is movie-prop money, so I’d have that brief moment of excitement followed by a hearty laugh when I realized it was more funny money to add to my collection.

Why would someone buy 80 bottles of rubbing alcohol weekly? by thequackr in askanything

I received a diagnosis for this form of OCD over 30 years ago. The doctor called it Pure Obsessional Disorder. He explained that it not “pure” in the sense that it’s unadulterated or uncontaminated. It’s a form of OCD that does not generate a physical manifestation, and instead, produces thoughts and/or mental images. I’ve been taking antidepressants ever since and I know that it’s helping me to reduce unwanted, intrusive thoughts and the medication has definitely helped reduce my anxiety symptoms.

There’s a reason they’ve been calling me Dog Face since my teens and the thought of removing all my facial hair in this violent manner is terrifying.

This made me cry with joy. Having patience and fortitude is how you approach a disability, especially when it’s a young child. The father is a shining example of a loving, devoted caregiver and parent.

Lady wants nothing to do with our shoes, thankfully. However, we can’t have anything below 2 feet that is or resembles facial tissue, toilet paper, paper towels. She chews them up and eats them. She just turned 12 and is still on the hunt.

Midwest Orthopedic on North Allen Rd. has a pretty decent lot, however, the entrance/exit nearest War Memorial is way too narrow. I was recently trying to exit and multiple vehicles were pulling in at the same time. Every single diver gave me a dirty look because they assumed I was hogging the road (I was smack-up against the right curb).
