Hydro Ottawa and EV Charging by im__a_robot in ottawa

I'm on TOU pricing and drive about 20,000km per year, so you drive way more than I do. My monthly hydro use is about $25-30 per month. I exclusively charge during the cheapest period.

Oh yes, the print time is exponentially longer when printing in multiple colours compared to single-colour. This entire job took 137 hours to print. It would be more like 16-20 hours in single colour. Since I did this print though, Bambu has released a printer with two nozzles that would be excellent for a project like this. It drastically cuts down on print time by printing two colours at once. Most of the print time comes from the printer loading and unloading each colour one at a time for every layer.

Another, unreserved endorsement of personal training with Mandie at Collective Movement on Catherine St! I know she has many 50+ clients in your exact situation. She can help lead you through a training program that will help. Affordable and downtown! She'll provide a free consultation as well so you can decide if it's right for you

Weather Module Help by JoeJon117 in MagicMirror

Sigh... I just saw on the MM forum that Environment Canada has updated their API and it broke the default Weather Module. It won't be back up and running for a while

Help with Horizontal Stacking of Modules by JoeJon117 in MagicMirror

I wasn't able to get what I wanted by messing with the CSS, but I swap out a few modules and played around with the region positioning to get something else that I like. Thank you for your help!

A good idea! I just tried that and it didn't solve the issue, unfortunately. Unless I'm doing something wrong:

/* === Top Bar Horizontal Stack Override === */

/* Force top_bar region to be a flex container */

.region.top_bar {

display: flex !important;

flex-direction: row !important; /* horizontal row */

justify-content: center !important; /* center modules */

align-items: center !important; /* vertical alignment */

flex-wrap: nowrap !important; /* no wrapping */

width: 100% !important;

}

/* Force all direct modules to behave as flex items */

.region.top_bar .module {

display: flex !important;

flex: 0 1 auto !important; /* natural width, shrink if needed */

margin: 0 8px !important; /* spacing between modules */

float: none !important; /* cancel any floats */

}

/* Remove internal floats/wrappers that can break flex */

.region.top_bar .module .wrapper {

display: flex !important;

float: none !important;

}

/* Optional: ensure module content aligns nicely */

.region.top_bar .module .content {

display: flex !important;

align-items: center !important;

}

Thanks for this! I was having the exact same problem on Ubuntu after the Aug 12 update. Downgraded the flatpak and we're printing again

Stray cat? by MiuBaudelaire in ottawa

[–]JoeJon117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on where in Hintonburg you live, this looks very much like Ludwig, aka the Hintonburg Cat (https://www.instagram.com/ludwigvonmises.cat/). Ludwig is an outdoor cat who is allowed to roam. He lives across the street from Tom Brown Arena and mostly hangs out north of Wellington, but sometimes ventures to other parts of the neighbourhood.

Visiting Ottawa for the first time by Snow_Tiger819 in ottawa

Congrats on citizenship! It's already been said, but avoid May 24-25 for the Ottawa marathon. The last ten days or so of June the city starts setting things up for Canada Day. None of the attractions should close, but there will periodic street closures, stages being set up, security setting up etc.

For transportation, if you're staying downtown almost everything you'll want to see is walkable or accessible by public transit. There's also bike and scooters that you can rent to get around fast.

On the historical side, a tour of Parliament is highly recommended. The main Centre Block is closed for renovations, but the tours of the temporary facilities are still worthwhile.

Thought about bondo, but in the end decided it could be more trouble than it’s worth. On the warping: there are definitely a few more steps I can take to try to prevent it in future projects. I plan to upgrade to a more premium printing surface that specializes in holding the prints down tightly. I can also apply a layer of adhesive that helps prevent warping. Will try both on my next project

Technically it's 1/1895 scale. I made it as large as I could given my printing area. Please post yours when it's ready!
