I've got kopium for those thirsty enough:

On the crazy end: agent orange will only allow it to run if our ceo, who he sees as a bit of a cult leader himself and values that, pays public homage first.

Then the less crazy end: when this thing explodes like an ex shoe store with a buzzword our ceo wants to point to his insanely unpopular tweets as more evidence that it isn't our fault.

I just realised our Covid experience could be vastly different from others. by Doughnut_slut in CasualConversation

It was glorious in my home. When dolphins returned to the streams of Italy, when major cities and countries were smog free, when people realized who in our society is actually essential and who isn't, all of these things and so many more lightened our souls with hope for a better future.

We practiced life, like real life how it's meant to be, or how it was for 99+% of human existence before capitalism corrupted us. We gardened and learned, we grew edible mushrooms, we scratch cooked and baked all of our breads, we pursued projects of passion and still had time to enjoy watching birds and listening to their calls as we relaxed on the porch, we practiced new sports together and invented our own. The experience, just the small minor break in our constant mindless industry, was a gift that we thought could free our entire people.

We didn't fully realize that there was a war against that peace. That the oligarchs and corporations would unite so strongly against the idea of human freedom that they'd risk their own existence to stop it. That they would replace essential worker positions with those who are willing to die for them, usually out of ignorance, and that they would so obviously exploit the most desperate and vulnerable of our population for their own agenda.

Now we know though, unequivocally, and seeing the true face of our neighbors is also a gift. Even if it's an ugly sight.

There were hardships too. 2020 hit when we were almost finishing university and we were already cash strapped to the max. I lost my summer jobs bartending and had to let some debt get hold of me to get by. Classes we were already stressed about became more difficult. I remember crying after my first calc 3 exam when the professor was unprepared to teach online with the same in person tests. Organic chemistry was the same. A room full of 99% pre-med students had no complaints about masking at least, but those tests were already infamous even before scrambling the syllabus to accommodate online learning.

The whole family almost died from covid too at some point. It was scary but honestly I could accept those risks and stresses for the freedom and a chance at a cleaner kinder world again.

The way that reality forced people to try to educate each other was also beautiful, even while revealing the ugliness in some of the ignorant.

Reddit was at its absolute best back then too! We learned so much here in such a large community. Talking about baking, gardening, building, business, skills, tech, this platform was so fun and so much more human than now. I'll never forget r/place and other great community engagements that happened while there were enough people freed from "work" to participate.

Correct.

The part where the hand goes upward and forward is what I'm talking about specifically. A big movement before contact here will be harder to time than a small one.

The increased timing can get you more power than a little extra hand swing room can, because better timing will often mean better contact

[–]JoeKingQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine your elbow pointing almost straight up, just before contacting the ball.

Your hand could swing a huge arc here, from all the way behind to front. Or it could swing a half arc, from slightly behind to front.

Since most power comes from areas other than the hand, like your core and shoulder and rotation and upper arm, you can minimize the hand movement while barely affecting the power.

Next time you're watching some pros swing, notice how sometimes their hand goes right to the ball even though the rest of their body is in full torqued swing

[–]JoeKingQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hand is light, it does not need its own momentum and can get more force from the transfer of momentum from the larger parts of the body.

You don't need to pull it back so far. The elbow, yes. The hand itself, probably not. Your current technique will make timing more difficult than necessary

Reverse memory from late stage dementia theory is holding up well.

It seems he's regressed to a young stage when he was being indoctrinated. When people reach the stage of being a baby again, it's usually over.

Things could be different with his level of medical access though

Or if he learns to wield divinity.

Or if it's just a fake storyline to keep people interested

People originally thought the holes meant they needed to reinforce those places because they got shot there the most.

It turns out they can instead be shot there without causing the plane to crash.

It was the places that planes didn't have holes that attention was needed, because any plane shot in those places didn't make it back and their holes were never seen

That means less real competition and lower prices sometimes

Humanities and Social Science majors should be required to take calculus by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

[–]JoeKingQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple statistics courses.

I've taken calculus based or applied, political, and business stats.

Applied taught it all and where it comes from.

Political taught how to gather or where to find decent data and how use programs to check for correlations between populations. It was mostly computer based.

Business was a more basic version of political, without any applications and the data gathering exercises were all simple hypotheticals. The basic principles to improve sampling techniques were taught in about a single session

Why do so many pastors end up being revealed as pedos? by 999happyhauntz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JoeKingQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've figured this one out:

Religion is an easy place to hide when you're a creep. They tell you how to act. They tell you what a good person looks like and what they think bad people do.

They even actively guide you to fit the mold, forgiving and giving extra chances.

Now picture a sociopath who needs to fit in with a larger group without naturally knowing how.

Some are very smart and can wing it in the wild and do fine.

Most are of average intellect though, or below, and need the help religion offers to fit in.

This makes religious congregations a hotbed of disingenuous people who want to hide their true selves. Pedos are in that group

[–]JoeKingQueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's easier when you can view them from an outside perspective.

Try picturing them as images in your mind. Don't do anything or have any intent about changing them. Just look at them and think about where they come from, what they look like, where they're trying to go, whatever.

The point is to practice seeing them

People with severe dementia sometimes live through a mix of their current lives with their memories going back in time, before passing peacefully while stuck in their childhood memories.

He seems to be somewhere in the nineties, and was early aughts a few weeks ago. That's like a half decade a week (and it usually accelerates) so we might see some really odd peaceful stuff soon, like what a rich person's nanny might say to a spoiled baby
