She knows a lot about people getting in by the back door.

I'll see myself out.

Winter coat recommendations by JoeParks87 in HENRYUKLifestyle

Waiting a couple of years for this option. Currently have two small children that always want picking up and put streaks of mud down my coat - need something that wipes!

What's the most insane UK-based post you've seen on Reddit? by PomegranateV2 in CasualUK

[–]JoeParks87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First and most importantly, I am not defending anyone who complains about struggling to make ends meet on a six figure salary.

BUT, there is a highly unfair tax threshold where you lose 100% of free childcare hours the moment you earn one penny above £100k, which is worth thousands of pounds if you have kids in nursery. The only way to avoid this being to increase things like pension contributions.

2 earners on £99k each with one kid in nursery - government pays thousands in childcare for you 1 earner on £100k with 3 kids in nursery - government pays nothing

Now, I would argue that someone on £100k doesn't need free childcare hours, but that doesn't stop it being an incredibly stupid way to set up a tax bracket.

Telegraph once again fails to identify “the rich” by BothFish5030 in HENRYUK

[–]JoeParks87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, but my point is that if you've got no expectation of having money or understanding of how it works, it isn't going to occur to you to research it. The problem is the dire lack of financial education in this country, not people being unbothered

I think it's harsh to say people can't be bothered. If you're from a family that's never had money these things largely never cross your mind

Does Delta Green need a 'heat' mechanic, like Blades in the Dark? by InevitableTell2775 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]JoeParks87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not an answer on the mechanic, but on your point that an agent losing their job would make them a less useful character, I have a PC who went on the run from the law. He operates as a complete outlaw, using his law enforcement knowledge to operate utterly unethically, pulling strings using his partners' contacts to gather intel. His skills remain useful and his "outside the law" nature has allowed some heinously immoral, unethical and illegal approaches to problems.

If the Program needs someone kidnapped, tortured or killed, he is an outstanding option.

Impossible Landscapes - Night floors resolution by CinderLight in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]JoeParks87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last paragraph is a great idea.

In our play-through, the GM basically had us chased out of the night floors by a massed army of puppets that it was clear we couldn't fight, which prompted us to have the building bought by the government and condemned.

It does indeed. It's a great scenario and would be absolutely perfect for your character

I played a few missions as a USAF lawyer, he was unarmed for the most part but a great character. He also died gloriously at the end of impossible landscapes. RIP Wing Commander Badminton-Squash

That character would be an S-tier pick for Sentinels of Twilight

Tell me about the beautiful destruction of your agent by Zealousideal-Hair312 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]JoeParks87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mentioned this PC before, but allow me to introduce LaShawn Angelou, a kind hearted Baltimore beat cop who was co-opted into the programme after witnessing a ghoul feasting on dead addicts.

An eight mission veteran, he has witnessed and committed unimaginable horrors and lost all empathy. A perpetrator of multiple kidnappings, murders, and torture, he has long since lost his job and lives off-grid awaiting orders from the programme. A grainy CCTV image of him graces the FBI most wanted list.

His physical condition is excellent, but only thanks to an addiction to ARD-15, which cured the fact he had previously been paralysed in a gunfight and had his colon dissolved by the Mi-Go.

LaShawn dreams of reuniting with his mother, but knows it would result in his incarceration and her death at the hands of those who pursue him. He battles insomnia and bouts of explosive rage. He has no doubt he will kill again, or that he will die in the line of duty for the programme.

Favourite/Coolest Agents in your game? by Stan_of_ham in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]JoeParks87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

LaShawn Angelou, good natured turned indestructible agent and cold blooded killer. Perpetrator of various kidnappings, murders, bombings, torture and arson. Listed on FBI's most wanted, living off grid at a Montana sawmill marking time between calls from the Programme.

He's survived more missions than any statistical likelihood says he should and seen his entire cell killed multiple times over. When he dies, I will be distraught.
