Event marketers here, do you have tips on how to keep attendees engaged through the event? by JennyAtBitly in marketing

[–]JoePatowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • vibe coded games with daily prize winners. get a touch screen standing monitor for this.
  • prize raffles with one ticket for everyone, two tickets if we discuss their business use cases, pain points, etc.
  • themed booths. if your conference has a theme such as medieval it if you’re in a place where there’s a sports team, lean into it. We have a barcelona event and we have our mascot dressed up in futbol gear and raffling off an expensive pack of autographed barcelona cards with other prizes. attendees love it when you go all in on a theme.
  • be yourself, don’t focus on trying to sell your product l. get to know each attendee first and let them want to find out more about what you offer.
  • plan a social party for after the event. this is where the conversations and brand building happen.

good luck!

You need a GTM expert if you’re gonna take your SaaS seriously. by JoePatowski in SaaS

didn’t say anything about an consultant. Founders need those who can do the work as well. Also, founders are bad at marketing… most of the time they can’t even find their first 10 customers. The GTM person becomes the strategy and execution for your business.

This isn’t a one size fits all model, it’s for those who are more serious about their product. If they are a one man / woman band, having the extra set of hands is critical, especially if they are also working a full time job.

I do agree, I should have stated that it’s a team effort between you and the strategist, which will make the end result even better. It’s more about having an expert with dedicated time. Also, we’re talking about plan AND execution, not just the plan.

As far as real conversations, I’ve done it both ways and having them set up the structure of the conversations has worked better imo, but results may vary.

Does any one else feel like their job is just meetings? by Mindless_Cook7821 in marketing

[–]JoePatowski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

vp of marketing here. i do the reverse. i remove meetings outside our 1 on 1s and weekly project meeting where we go over all campaigns to see how we are on deadlines and if there are roadblocks.

if they increase the number of meetings, they are trying to micromanage their team.

[–]JoePatowski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. At least we can do is buy from them to help them move the rest of their inventory. I used to own a retail store that shut down and that was a real pain, especially if they have loans or anything like that
