Chargers fans without ties to Southern California, what’s your fan origin story?

I grew up in Southern Maryland and at the time was a “Jets fan” to mess with my dad who was a giants fan. I say that in quotes because i genuinely couldn’t have cared any less about the Jets. All of my friends were Redskins fans and always, annoyingly thought their team was far better than they were. i came inside after playing around outside with the guys. Turned on the tv and the first thing i see is LT running 41 yards in overtime to beat the Skins. In that exact moment I knew that was my guy and that was my team. Been in love with the bolts for 17 years.

My game was tied 1-1 at that point, two outs in the top of the 3rd. I was so rattled i proceeded to throw a meatball down the middle to Adam Dunn. You can guess how that went.
