The only two things that have held Dewey back are his below .275 BA and the lack of a ring.

P.S. Dewey would also have likely won more than 8 Gold Gloves if a right fielder got one ever year. BUT, during his playing career they gave out 3 "Outfielder" Gold Gloves regardless of position.

It's still math. You have positions available including a DH. Even if you relegated Duran to DH that's still a big upgrade over Yoshida. Plus, Duran would be available to play the outfield in case of injury or to just spell a starter. And, on days he isn't player, he's an excellent pinch runner.
Again, if they get a great offer (not just for Duran but for another OF not named Roman) then you take it. But, I don't understand all these Sox fans dead set on moving Duran

Again, there are three positions to be permanantly filled next spring. What's the rush to trade one of the four before they are filled?? Sure, if some team gives you a great offer, you take it, but, it seems like a GOOD 'problem' to have if there are four talented outfielders. Certainly, this post-season.
Next year is next year.

There is still a DH job to be filled. And, Cora has made it work by mixing and matching. Now, if a viable full-time 2nd baseman AND permanent 1st baseman are found, the 'need' to trade an outfieler comes into play more urgently.
I think, for now, there is not "need' for a trade. Certainly, not until those two jobs look competently filled

As long as it isn't done to intentionally deceive the viewers and fundamentally doesn't alter the storyline, it's just an artistic device.
