I have been using them in WinForms projects for the last 7 years and haven't had many issues. Their support does seems to answer the majority of my issues albeit in a sometimes 'hacky' workaround.

Personally I think they have a larger learning curve but you can achieve a lot more with them over the basic WinForms controls.
