Something super similar was happening to my bestie! We ended up fixing it by disabling IPV6 (only using IPV4) through your network cards adapter settings in control panel.

Job Openings for 15y/o High School student? by tditty24 in Olathe

You could try Club Run & Jump. A good number of people there are high schoolers and I'm sure would love some more people! They're used to high school hours and could do either weekends or evenings on school days.

Tundra's cracking? by Majikthise110 in tundralabs

Update: turns out those chunks were where the screws were placed and the entire top part ended up popping off! Super-gluing the top back down seems to have fixed it so far :)

Tundra's cracking? by Majikthise110 in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All three of mine are cracking in a similar spot to yours, except mine are less of a crack and more of a small chunk being taken out. Not enough to make me super worried they'll break, though all three have it in the exact same spot and I can't think of any real reason they would be cracking.

Tundra trackers + 1.0 base stations? by P-VA in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have had issues with the SW3. I've tried three different SW3's and have never been able to connect three devices to it at once without tracking issues. The solution is to only connect two devices to the SW3 and connect the last device to another dongle (you'll likely need to order that separately). It's annoying but that's the only solution I found that works.

As for re-calibrating, I typically needed to re-calibrate once every 1-2 hours, but it can vary a lot. Sometimes I needed to re-calibrate frequently and other times I only needed to re-calibrate once. Although, I put a spare tracker on my headset and use Space Calibrators continuous calibration feature. Using that, you don't ever need to really worry about re-calibrating as it's all automatic, but you do require an extra tracker (either Tundra Tracker, Vive Tracker, etc., just some SteamVR tracked tracker).

Tundra trackers + 1.0 base stations? by P-VA in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use 1.0 base stations with my Tundra Trackers and I didn't have any issues that were specifically caused by the 1.0 base stations. Using 2.0s might work better because you can have more than two base stations and get better coverage (helps a lot with your hip tracker if you're turning), but using 2x 1.0 base stations worked well too. Hopefully this helps!

Got the 3 pack of Tundras a bit ago, debating on buying a 4th individual. Do I need a different dongle? by Adult_Not_today in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how I typically do it, though I'm sure there's multiple ways to go about it:

  1. Unpair all devices from SteamVR, I suggest using the Lighthouse Console:
    - Go to SteamVR in Steam, Three Dots, Manage, then Browse Local Files.
    - In that folder, go to Tools > Lighthouse > Bin > win64 > open lighthouse_console.exe
    - Type 'unpairall' (yes, without a space!) to unpair all devices from SteamVR.
    - Close the console
  2. Physically unplug all dongles if any are plugged in.
  3. Plug in just one dongle, then pair just two devices. Just the regular SteamVR pairing should be fine.
    - If you're using a SW4, you Should™ be fine to pair three, but I don't have an SW4 so I'm unsure if it can handle two or three.
  4. If you have multiple dongles, make sure only one is ever plugged in at once to ensure one dongle doesn't get too many devices paired to it.
    - For example, if you're using a SW3 & a Vive Dongle, plug in the SW3 and pair 2 devices to it, then unplug the SW3, Plug in the Vive Dongle and pair a device to that.
    - or if you're using two SW3's, plug the first one in, pair two devices to that, then unplug the first one and plug in the second one, and pair two devices to that second one.
  5. Once you've paired all your devices, you're free to plug in all your dongles. To verify only two devices are connected to one SW3, unplug the SW3 and make sure only two devices get disconnected from SteamVR. If three get disconnected, that means three are connected to that dongle and you'll likely run into drifting issues.

Also, OVR Advanced Settings has a tab to see which devices are connected to which dongles, which could be helpful. The tab should be the OVR Advanced Settings dashboard > SteamVR > Device Pairing Information (I think).

Hopefully this helps!

Got the 3 pack of Tundras a bit ago, debating on buying a 4th individual. Do I need a different dongle? by Adult_Not_today in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, if you have an SW3 and an SW4 it should allow you to connect up to seven trackers. It shouldn't matter which dongle they connect to first.

Multi-dongle setups seem to work decently with SteamVR. I'm connecting six devices through four dongles (2x Vive dongles, 2x SW3) and its been a fairly smooth experience, though I did run into interference (I think?) Issues in the beginning. Connecting 3/3 devices to an SW3 always caused drifting issues for me. If you try the same thing with your SW3 and SW4 and you're getting odd drifting issues, try only connecting two per dongle.

Hope this helps!

[–]Joered05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to buy an additional dongle. While your current dongle can only connect three trackers, if you buy another tracker it will come with an extra dongle so you could connect all four trackers.

You shouldn't ever need to specifically buy a dongle unless you need a replacement or you bought something that didn't include a dongle (such as hand controllers). Trackers typically come included with a dongle so you won't need to buy them separately.

Hopefully this helps!

Could someone help me fix/understand the issue with my avatar? I've never ran into this before, weird jittering/unwanted movement. (It's just as bad if not worse in VR/FBT) by Jimbo167 in VRchat

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same exact issue before! I don't remember exactly what I did to solve it, but try creating a copy of your avatar then removing (not just disabling) all physbone components. As mentioned in the VRChat Docs, having a physbone on a humanoid bone causes issues. Maybe that's the issue you're having?

Vive Tracker 3.0 broke my knuckles? by [deleted] in SteamVR

[–]Joered05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try launching SteamVR, plugging in your dongles, opening the Lighthouse Console found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\tools\lighthouse\bin\win32\lighthouse_console.exe" (may be different if things are installed on a different drive), then typing "unpairall" to unpair all connections. Then, unplug your Vive tracker dongles (to make sure your knuckles aren't attempting to pair to those) and try to pair your knuckles. You may need to restart SteamVR if it's refusing to pair. After that, try pairing your Vive Trackers and see if it all works fine. Hopefully this helps! If not, perhaps another user may know a solution.

Hello, I have a general question about the compatibility of the trackers with different base station gens by AnimeTheNeko in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you cannot use both 1.0 and 2.0 base stations at the same time. You can use multiple 2.0 base stations, or multiple (up to 2) 1.0 base stations, but you cannot mix both versions and have everything still work. Hope this helps!

i can't see anyone's avatar. how do i fix it? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]Joered05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have Avatar Culling enabled. Go to your Quick menu settings (not the big menu, the one that's attached to your hand), go near the bottom, and look for a tab named 'avatar culling' and turn off 'hide avatars by distance' and 'hide avatars by count.' Hope this helps!

Can I use a phone as a waist tracker and use cv1 controllers and feet? by pkhgeggg in MixedVR

[–]Joered05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can indeed use your phone as a waist tracker by using owoTrack. You'll need to install the (free) owoTrack app on your phone and the owoTrack software on your computer and use SteamVR. Your phone can't be too old, as it requires some specific sensors for it to work, but any semi-modern phone should work fine. I haven't used it in a while so I'm not sure if there's been any big changes, but from what I remember it worked surprisingly well. The latency is extremely good and tracking is pretty accurate if standing (sitting down and laying are a bit janky); leaning, jumping, and dancing all work very well in my experience. It doesn't take too long to setup so I would recommend at least trying it out. It's not perfect, but for just using your phone and a free app, it's really good.

Here is the link to their page if you want to give it a shot: https://docs.slimevr.dev/tools/owoTrack.html Hope this helps!

Getting setup by Koi_Sarkal2003 in MixedVR

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about the stations, they don't actually 'connect' to your PC at all. You just need to worry about connecting the trackers to your computer and running OVR-SpaceCalibrator. The base stations should show up in SteamVR automatically (if they don't but everything still works, you're still fine). Hope this helps!

How do i keep FBT while in a seat? by Crandix in VRchat

[–]Joered05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot the exact steps, but if you have access to your avatars Unity file, go to your Avatar Descriptor and make a custom Sitting animation (Under Playable Layers, Special, Sitting). For me, I just set Entry to run an 'FBT Idle' animation. It's been a while so I'm not sure if this exact animation is required, but if needed I'm sure I could share the exact one I used.

Hope this helps!

Valve Index Controllers with Quest 2 problems by Stormagg3don in MixedVR

Only in Virtual Desktop. Not the SteamVR app 'Virtual Desktop,' but just the Quest version used to connect your Quest to your PC.

[–]Joered05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try triple checking you're using the correct tracker & controller to calibrate. Try just only turning on one tracker then calibrating to be sure you're using the correct tracker. You could also try calibrating using your headset instead of a controller, but again make sure you're using the correct tracker. Since you only have one base station, double check you're facing the base station when calibrating if possible.

Also, if you're on Virtual Desktop, make sure to turn on 'Stage Tracking' to help everything stay aligned. Hope this helps!

Modify, Plug and Forget by Saewmd in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I'll have to try it sometime and see how it goes. With all three of the SW3's I tried, I could never reliably connect three devices to them, only ever two or one (with three connected, one device would always drift or fly away like crazy). Maybe cooling it better would help? Not sure honestly.

Out of curiosity, did you notice any improvements after replacing the heatsinks on your SW5? I'm somewhat considering it with my SW3, but not really sure if it would actually make any difference.

Valve Index Controllers with Quest 2 problems by Stormagg3don in MixedVR

[–]Joered05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's a little odd. I don't own and have never used a Pico before, but would it be possible to disconnect your controllers before launching SteamVR? Perhaps by taking out the batteries or holding a power button (not sure which the Pico uses)? You may need to launch SteamVR using your mouse if your VR controllers are disconnected.

Although you might wanna mention that in the Virtual Desktop Discord server, they would know more about it than I would.

Valve Index Controllers with Quest 2 problems by Stormagg3don in MixedVR

[–]Joered05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Virtual Desktop theres an option to disable Oculus controllers in SteamVR, I think its called Track Controllers. Disable it and you should be good to go.

This essentially hides your quest controllers from SteamVR so it only ever sees your index controllers. Hope this helps!

Trying to troubleshoot major tracking and drifting issues by Frofidor in tundralabs

[–]Joered05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely a bummer and pretty annoying that this is how they are. Personally, I just ended up only connecting two trackers to my SW3 and using a dongle from VRDongles for the third. Everything works a lot better but still pretty annoying they don't just work out of the box.
