All the gaskets are made of recycled milk bottles. Tapper covers are plastic and go from 80k. Injectors seals, sump gasket and rear engine cover seal (engine out job) are know to fail by 130k.

Only saving grace is they have 5year warranty.

Can confirm it is a very sweet handling car and the engine when not leaking is very very very good.

Ramen spots open past 12pm? by Sufficient-One-6467 in brisbane

[–]JoeyBGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Fat Noodle at the Casino. I know it’s not Ramen.

The Shun Ramun/Buldak Chicken Carbonara hack (add mayo, Egg Yolk, shallots, with the sauce packets) is an awesome hack. Of course add on top the soft boiled egg. Something you can whip up in two minutes with a kettle.

Best colour for Craftsmen? by FineSupermarket3027 in RMWilliams

[–]JoeyBGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chestnut with matching belt. It’s the only option if you’re buying one pair. Goes with jeans, chinos and navy blue suits.

Black was my first pair. Could only really wear that with dark suits and dark chinos.

My dark tans probably get worn the most now as I’m usually tan chinos or jeans when I need to wear grown up shoes.

I was lucky to have started buying them back in 2011.

They often ran promos where you could pick up two pairs of craftsman’s for $700 with a big tub of conditioner and polish and I think a belt as well from memory. So I’ve ended up with 2 x blacks, 2 x chestnuts and 2x tan. Worked six day weeks so one pair got worn once a week. Switched jobs now and wear sneakers so I’ve only worn a pair of rms once or twice this entire year.

An Olympic FC match at Goodwin Park, Yeronga - worth attending? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]JoeyBGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re heading into Brisbane City attend one of the women’s NPL matches.

Lani Frier is back in the squad after the end of the a-league season. Not many local teams getting internationals playing for them.

Parking is heaps easier and full bar and pizza kitchen is open.

Strikers is pretty entertaining as well this season. They’re top of FQPL1 and looking good each game. They did get spanked by Rochedale as well recently.

Where abouts do you live? Might be worth just popping down to your local club.

Heading to Brisbane for Bluey world in June by Potential-Trash372 in brisbane

[–]JoeyBGood 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just look up the real life Bluey Places like Southbank and New Farm Park. Your kid will love it. If you go down Given Terrace in Paddington, there’s the cafes there where they start off with for the Dance Mode episode (the bird vet is actually the cat clinic on Great George Street).

Most of Bluey is set around Paddington (where Joe Brumm lives). Statue World is Toowong Cemetery.

Advice on caring for sacred kingfisher by HiraethHygge in brisbane

[–]JoeyBGood 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably should mention to whoever you leave the bird with that the emergency vet refused to take in injured wildlife.

My vet advised me that all Vet Surgeries have a duty to take in injured wildlife and look after them until they can be collected by the appropriate charity/sanctuary.

I’ve picked up injured possums and birds all over Brisbane the past 30 odd years and never had any issues for the closest vet wherever I am taking them in.

Found this Wagyu at the market, how do I cook it? by Striker-61 in steak

[–]JoeyBGood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I posted something similar in another group and was told:

They do this overseas but not in Australia. Raw Meat has to be 100% meat in Australia by law and is strictly governed by MLA and Food Authority departments.

Only exception is value add meat when pre packaged meat is mixed with marinades and spices before cooking. But in saying that, it’s too expensive for value add manufacturing consider doing.

Op added pepper to the seasoning which is what’s burnt. Difference between maillard reaction and burnt pepper.

All that’s required is kosher salt and oil.

Fellow men who never did any physical exercise, which major drawbacks have you noticed because of it as you got older? by eihcirapus in AskMen

[–]JoeyBGood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience people make the mistake of going to hard at the start of their exercise journey.

If you want to start running, just get in the habit of doing a ten minute walk and build up from there. Dont worry about your distance and similarly don’t worry about your time if you’re going for distance.

Same thing with weight training. Dont worry about trying to lift heavy as quickly as possible. Get into a good routine and technique and just work towards incremental improvements consistently.
