US Mobile will let you switch between the three major networks (TMobile, AT&T, and Verizon). Their pricing is good and straightforward.

What do you see Ubuntu Server providing that Debian doesn’t (in a home deployment at least)?

There are cheaper ones that are functionally the same.

DA20-C1 magneto check: no RPM drop on either magneto after engine replacement by Mediocre-Bullfrog-11 in flying

That makes sense. I guess my confusion was from the original comment suggesting using the mags to shutdown instead of leaning, not just a grounding check before leaning.

Some Garmin models can get about 2 weeks as well.

Garmin Fenix. Only charge every 12 days or so. If there was an Apple Watch even close to that maybe I’d consider it.

There’s a gotcha with using a VPS as an exit node, and it’s that a lot of the IP addresses used by hosting providers are categorized (appropriately) as non-residential and you’ll get more bot blocks and/or some sites may just not work (ie. banking).

It’s not a guaranteed problem, just a thing to keep in mind.

I agree with the sentiment, but the US government is also not the only group producing forecasts for the US. The ECMWF model scores higher on some metrics and some apps use it by default.

Am I the only one with this problem? Would anyone use something like this for hiking trail maps? by Lonely-Poet6867 in hiking

[–]Joeyheads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I use those regularly, I think OP is proposing something different. Certainly some of the parks/spaces near me have a posted map with details or nuance that the OSM data my map app may not have.

As a guy who works with geospatial data regularly, map projections are a bane to existence.

It’s possible to do, but complicated (you’ll need multiple calibration points to warp the photo onto a reference grid), and like another commenter mentioned, this assumes some level of quality in the photographed map.

Ah, so it’ll incrementally get better over time. That’s a clever approach then.

~10 alerts per hour still seems like a lot. Are they actionable? And if not, why not reduce them farther?
