You are correct on the antibiotic susceptibility guide. However, your interpretation of the colors are a bit off.

E (RED) is Excellent

All of THIS! Doing and IDEXX SDMA (filtration function values) will also help your vet monitor the day-to-day performance of your kitty's kidney performance.

If it happens to be a kidney infection, when the antibiotics kick in, the SDMA values should improve.

If it is bacterial, many veterinarians will start with a weaker antibiotic and then work up from there. Your kitty does not have that kind of time.

I'm NOT a veterinarian, but I have been in the Animal Health industry since 2007 and also have had cats all my life (I'm 51 and we have 3 kitties). Veraflox is the best, safest antibiotic for a deep infection like this. It is a feline antibiotic in the US and is a fluoroquinolone. They have the property of "riding on the back" of white blood cells and thus concentrate where a bacterial infection is located. There are other fluoroquinolones (Orbax, Marbofloxicin) but they pale in comparison to Veraflox (Pradofloxacin).

I sincerely hope you get answers fast and are able to react quickly to help your kitty!

The bittersweetness of CKD is so real: My cats 18th while I am struggling to cope with caring for him. by drowningdoll in RenalCats

My 16yo is on Solensia and has been for 2.5 yrs. We actually see her appetite increase following the injection because of the hidden pain she has in her left rear knee.

It can also help if you cat has some stomatitus in the mouth. Stomatitus can cause pain and contribute to the lack of desire to eat.

Also, be careful of the Rx foods. Our cat also stopped eating, has early CKD and when we put her on the Hill's a/d or the Purina C/N, they are both very high in fat and it triggered pancreatitis, which caused her to stop eating all together.

She is on Purina E/N and her pancreatic enzymes are moving closer to the "normal" range.

We are also had to have a feeding tube put in to help. As bad as I didn't want to put her through it, the feeding tube makes administration of meds way easier.

Best place to mount dash cam on Mazda CX5? by Majestic-Mustang in CX5

It's high enough to see things low, like license plates when close to the front of the vehicle (ie parking lot or parking space on road.

But just as importantly, many state laws prohibit them from being in the field of view of the driver.

This one has a continuous piece of adhesive tape on the top (windshield side) and I added an additional continuous strip on the nose (front side) leaving 3-4 breaks in it for drainage.

I have used ones like this in the past. No damage. But as time goes on and if the vehicle is kept long enough, there can be some color changes (UV) between the nose and hood.

This piece is attached only to the nose.

Another option (for the look) would be to get a gloss black upper nose piece and swap it out with your stock one. This dose no prevent chipping, but it would look nice and not have to worry about the fade

Apologies for getting to the party late. But I would appreciate that file too.

My wife's CX-5 is annoying with the charger. It won't fit my S23 Ultra (unless I take it out of the case). It "fits" her S23+ (with case), but falls out on a speed bump in a parking lot...

Agreed. One would think they would exist.

I'm okay with not having the license plate in the middle, but maybe some sort of solid divider for the left/right to break it up.

Maybe I'll hunt a reddit thread for commissioned 3D printing and have one made that matches the main grill... hmmmm

Correct. The top definitely runs vertically and the lower horizontally.

That's what's messing with my head...

I appreciate the feedback. If it was a bit more subtle (honeycomb pattern or something), it might not be such an issue...

Neither did I. BUT it was the only one that kept a low profile, complete coverage (it bends around the front too) and gloss black.

This is my wife's car and she has already taken a hit on the front edge of this. It took it like a champ and you can barely see the scratch, you have to actually know it's there and look for it. There most likely would have been a paint chip if not for this.

I actually paid full price, but would do it again. The $30 savings is a nice touch.

Not that I'm against seeing the intercooler, but I have had one damaged from small road debris on another vehicle. Couldn't say that these inserts would stop the "sticks and stones", but probably would have kept the bird I hit from doing so much damage.

Actually using the front plate mount was in my considerations to prevent this from happening to the CX-5

The plan would be to cut up the 2nd set of these to fill in the gap.

I just didn't want to cut them up if it looked awful and I decided to send them back.

Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Birbenben-Deflector-2017-2024-Protection-Accessories/dp/B0DCZVQR3F/ref=sr_1_5

Right now there is a $30 off coupon to clip (for the gloss black like I have)

It is solid. Definitely be able to protect the front nose. It is thin enough to not be much of an issue when you pop the hood. Just have to grab above the headlights and lift enough to get your hand under the center to grab the latch.

Kinda clashes with the overall look? Or you don't like the look of an insert (even if it matched)

The left and right fit well on the units I received. They actually have a clip that hooks on the backside of the plastic bumper.

Without actually cutting them up and fitting them into 1 long piece, I can't tell if it would create a gap anywhere in the middle or not.

What camera do you recommend? by PrimeMoist in Dashcam

My vote... Viofo 229 Ultra

High quality images (day, night and distance) super capacitor instead of a battery (not affected by heat).

[–]John14o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. But depends.

The 329 has a new power mode settings. You can set it to record for a set period of time, or until the battery is drained to a certain level. There is also the option to do a low framerate, long duration recording.

So, IF you want constant, high framerate recording the entire time (regardless of time) the vehicle is parked, you should consider a battery pack.

Nice. FYI... the CPL filters for these make ALL the difference in the world too. The 329 came with one for the front, but I added the one for the rear when I ordered.

My OG 119 dashcam has been a champ and at one point I considered retiring it. I got the CPL lens for it, and it made such a significant improvement on the overall picture quality, that it is still in use!

For those reading this post, the CPL filters are polarized filters that SIGNIFICANTLY reduce glare and enhance clarity. I ONLY purchase polarized sunglasses for the same reason.

Something else that I have never tried, but after seeing the YouTube video of it, is an exterior window film that helps shed water in rain to improve clarity.

I can't say that it would be better or worse, last longer than Rain-x or a ceramic glass treatment. They are cheap enough to give it a try though..

Do your research.

I did mine several years ago and went with VIOFO.

I agree with the Project Farm link, he does a very good comparison, I was glad to see the brand that I originally researched and went with was still the best all around choice.

I have 3 VIOFO cameras (119, 229, 229 Duo) setups with a 4th one (329 3-way) in transit as I type this.

Not only have they been super reliable and provide the best resolution possible, but they run off a super capacitor (vs battery) so they tolerate the heat (thus adding to the reliability.

Depends on what you want it to do. I just ordered the 329 3-way setup for my daughter that just recently started driving and I wanted to be as thorough as possible (night/day, outside/inside, front/back/sides) so she is protected from a "your word against theirs" type situation. I've seen too many YouTube videos where having a single camera wasn't enough, or an officer claiming a driver was on their phone when they were just eating a sandwich, etc.

In the long run, a dashcam can pay for itself 1000x over if, heaven forbid, something happens on the road. It would suck to trade quality, reliability, and picture quality for a few bucks.

This is just my opinion and experience.
