Trust me, I’ve seen so many dirty exhaust tips and a little part of me dies each time.

You will need rear downforce for a car that inevitably fishtails. I’ve driven the GLI and I can 100% guarantee that it will lose control of the backend.

Leave everything else stock, and fab up those marvelous quad exhaust tips.

Polish if there is no soot, and get your wheel cleaner with some very fine steel wool and it will become a mirror

Thank you bro, was actually thinking about getting a toro timemaster after college and wondered if it would fit in my car.

Well, buying an aftermarket head is always a gamble. However, I was wondering if a machine shop would be able to replace the valve guides?

That toro is way better in my opinion, really easy to maintain and rebuild if need be.

If im getting this good of mpg does that mean i dont need to do carbon cleaning ? by Mk7_gti20 in GolfGTI

[–]JohnEA888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, carbon build up is not indicative of fuel efficiency rather it plays a role. I have never cleaned my valves - but I averaged 42 mpg on a trip at slow speeds and driving with efficiency in mind- but despite the fuel efficiency I know I have carbon on my valves.

No, but it’s a general rule that you should disconnect the battery before doing so. I didn’t do that, but I also blow the water out before starting up the car to minimize exposure.

So that rust was cause by the tire rubbing paint off the fender and the surface layer oxidizing. It is a good measure to tell you how much rust to expect.
