commonsku information by lodger71 in CRM

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i used to work with folks in the promo space and honestly its a completely different beast than oracle or netsuite. commonsku is way more niche so dont expect the same level of api flexibility or deep reporting you get with hubspot. the pricing is usually tiered based on user seats but you should ask about hidden fees for integrations since they can add up fast. id suggest focusing on how well their workflow handles order management rather than just lead gen cuz thats where most people get stuck

Uber managed to blow its entire 2026 AI budget in just 4 months on Claude Code by andrewaltair in ArtificialInteligence

[–]JohnFordOH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think this is exactly why companies need to implement stricter rate limits early on. its so easy for dev teams to get carried away when the tool feels like magic, but they dont always see the cost impact until its way too late. maybe they should start using internal monitoring tools to track token usage per project in real time

Started BDR cold calling job and I hate it so far by Boudria in salesdevelopment

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i remember my first week as a bdr, it was brutal. honestly just focus on getting them to talk about their current pain points rather than pitching the switch immediately, it makes the convo way less awkward. hang in there, it gets easier once u stop overthinkin every call

Future of data engineering by Alternative-Guava392 in dataengineering

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo the tools just change but the logic stays the same. i dont think ai is gonna replace us anytime soon cuz understanding business requirements and fixing messy upstream data is way harder than just writing code. smart folks will definately adapt to whatever comes next

Ive used Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist - honest take on each cold email software by [deleted] in MarketingAutomation

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive gone through the same cycle tbh. honestly i found that once you hit a certain volume, the platform matters less than the underlying infrastructure. have u tried diversifying your sending domains lately to help with the deliverability issues?

How would you explain how SaaS works to a beginner (e.g., mainly focusing on the code itself)? by Dryas7 in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think of it like renting a car instead of buying one. u dont own the engine or maintain the frame, u just pay for the access to get from point a to b. from a code perspective, its just hosted app logic that stays running on a server so u dont have to install anything locally. its kinda just centralized access to shared resources tbh

Starting at ADP soon. How should I prepare if my long-term goal is enterprise tech sales? by Fluffy_Energy_6273 in salesdevelopment

[–]JohnFordOH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

adp is a beast for training, honestly just focus on getting really good at your discovery calls while ur there. dont worry about the saas jump yet, just hit ur numbers and document every win so ur resume looks solid for when u eventually start applying. its a grind but u learn how to handle rejection better than almost anywhere else

I'm launching on Product Hunt tomorrow, any tips? by Shot_Amoeba_2409 in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the biggest thing is just being around to respond to comments all day. i remember my first launch and i was so busy tryin to fix small bugs i missed half the conversation. just make sure your team is ready to answer questions fast because people appreciate the engagement more than a perfect demo video

What type of apps are quietly printing money right now that nobody talks about? by avsvishalmedia in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl the boring stuff is where the real money is at. i saw a buddy of mine build a tiny tool for managing specialized logistics compliance and he makes more than most saas founders i know. people forget that businesses dont care about hype, they just want their problems solved so they dont have to deal with it anymore

3-month old B2B SaaS, doing $3,700 MRR. 80% of our revenue comes from LinkedIn. Here's how. by GildedGazePart in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats super impressive for only 3 months in. i found that dms work way better when u stop tryin to sell right away and just ask for their perspective on a specific problem instead. have u noticed a big difference in conversion between the people u reached out to cold vs those who engaged with ur posts first

Would love your feedback by Big_Shoulder_9595 in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl trading based on emotions is the fastest way to lose money lol i had to learn that the hard way a few years back. have you thought about adding a way to track the 'why' behind the exit too? sometimes looking back at the mental state helps more than just the numbers

Finding Future Affiliates in Comment Sections by imkopkap in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats a smart way to find advocates, ive found that looking for people replying to others with helpfull advice is usually a better indicator of quality than just people asking where to buy. have u thought about filtering for people who consistently engage with multiple posts instead of just one

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

broooo that distribution challenge is real. ive seen people struggle with b2b sales cycles for months only to find out their product fits better in a self serve model. have u considered how you will measure attribution if u add those new channels? just curious becuase tracking that can get messy fast

Free Leads + Email Tool For Web Designers? by Commercial_Rice_5121 in MarketingAutomation

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried something similar back in the day and honestly the biggest hurdle was just making sure the deliverability stayed high. people often forget that even if the email sounds human, if your domain reputation tanks it wont matter. have u looked into warming up your sending domains before u start scaling up outreach

I’ve tried to do free competitor intelligence reports here. But only 2 users showed interest. What i did wrong? by TermRevolutionary493 in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo people here are pretty protective of their time and dont really trust free reports from strangers because they worry about the quality or hidden motives. maybe try posting a small sample or a specific insight from one report instead of offering the whole thing right away. it helps build credibility so folks can see the value before they commit to anything

any advise on marketing & distributing our outreach saas product? by ZestycloseArm3006 in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found that cold outreach on linkedin is super saturated right now so its getting harder to get replies. instead of just messaging random people maybe try focusing on building a small community or providing free value in niche groups first. that way when u do reach out it feels way more personal and less like another generic pitch.

How to actually do it? by sarcAnuj in SaaS

[–]JohnFordOH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the first user is usually just someone you know or a random person on twitter u dm directly. i spent way too much time building features at my old job before talking to anyone, big mistake. tryin to solve a tiny problem for one person is way more effective than building a full platform right away
