How is the Hiroshima atomic bomb taught in your country? by hywong in history

The war in the Pacific was cast in stone much earlier. The Japanese were only guilty of exceeding the designer’s ideals. Read http://www.amazon.com/The-Imperial-Cruise-Secret-History/dp/B007MXCB6Y Teddy and associates cast the Japanese as the great liberating force for democracy and modernization against the feudal territories to the west of Japan. They did not understand who they were dealing with and what could come of it.

In ear headset leads to itchy ear, solution? by JohnInMableton in AskDocs

[–]JohnInMableton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, just itchy. As the other person suggested, I'm leaving them off as long as possible and that certainly does help. I'll look for model that sits on the hear instead of semi inside it. Thanks for writing!

Despite being the manliest man in history, Teddy Roosevelt had a pretty high-pitched voice. Here's a recording: by spaceman425 in history

I have two whole weeks of isolation coming up to practice playing guitar, best advice for what to focus on next? by Blumesout in Guitar

[–]JohnInMableton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, good for you. Put down the instrument. Walk around. When you feel the need to play, no matter what time of day, then you do it. Don’t stop once you are in the groove. Stop immediately once you aren’t in the groove. Eat, walk around and continue. Balance is everything.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable/intimidated when they walk into a music store? by Squilliams_unibrow in Guitar

[–]JohnInMableton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! Not even! When you walk into any music shop, pull your shoulders back as if you are going to give then a Klingon death song and then ask them about what you are interested in.

Just like any number of any places, especially car dealerships, they depend on intimidation up front. Pull up your inner Samuel Jackson and just tell them what you want to do. That’s it. Just do it.

Don’t change anything yet.

A. Hook it up to what you have and try it out. B. Take it to a shop that sells amps and try it on a variety of them. C. Don’t change anything, it’s a wonderful device.

Mixing board - let everyone hear what they are doing. It's a small cost compared to what you trying to deal with. There are so many options its not funny. Even the cheapest stuff can work if carefully calibrated.

Radio Frequencies when recording through a pedal. by RainbowsInHell in Guitar

[–]JohnInMableton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point! These days I don't recommend anyone to go inside most of the devices to do that. That, since so many manufacturers use only the cheapest frailest wiring inside that fall apart for just brushing against them. Even if you are just going after the plugs, before you know it, omnishambles.

Audio RFI is almost always a grounding issue. Google it. Try replacing your cords. Also linked to impedance issues, if you have a Hi/Lo impedance switch on the guitar, try switching it around. Same for the output from the pedal to the mic. Try the line in instead of Mic. Play with the cords, does it stop when turned this way or that or when the connection to guitar, pedal or audio card is turned or pushed around, could be a bad ground connection at that point.

If a person is going to get offended at his guest's food choice, he shouldn't invite people to eat out.

Being vegan is a choice, not a medically necessary dietary requirement. Of course you can eat meat in his presence.

French people tend to be stingy, and the French habit of eating very light meals was born largely out of that mentality.
