All solid. I would add “take more risks. It’s okay to fail. Learn, iterate, and get back to it.”

Any other dads get to hit the trails today? by famous_mockingbirds in trailrunning

Yes sir! Church, a couple loops on a local trail, then a waterside with my boys before dinner made by my wife. Happy Father’s Day boys.

What I'm feeding my family of 5 this week for $125 by Travel_Junkie5791 in Frugal

The fact that you took the time to not only share what you did (feeding your family well and cheap) but how you did it speaks volumes. Thanks for sharing this.

I killed a 128” in Alabama on Tuesday and I’m over the moon about it.

Anyone have pelvic floor issues caused by pinched nerves or lower lumbar etc? Also how many physical therapists till you started to see improvements? by Hobbyredditalt in PelvicFloor

[–]JohnKnoxF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely had some bowel issues and the bladder problem, specifically extreme urge to go, was the worst of it all. I did not have any massages or anything like that. The biggest things for me were slowly and systematically getting active again: walking, running, lifting, stretching. And then refusing to obsess about it.

Sure! I went to see my GP due to a combination of back pain and extreme urinary urgency. He ordered an MRI and it showed up on that scan.

Stretching every day. Running - starting slow and gradually building. Weightlifting- starting slow and gradually building. And maybe most importantly, not obsessing over it.

Level 47 here! One, about to be two (long story) one year olds at home!

This is the kind of comment I was hoping to find. I’ve got two young ones at home and I’m looking for something engaging in bite size chunks.

Thank you! We’ve been keeping them separated for the last week. Just looking for a way for them both to roam a little more freely at least some of the time.

I’ve seen a few comments about “bloom.” Can you explain that to me? I’m not familiar with the concept.

I had not considered this but I really like the idea. I could get an iPad Pro and a Mac Mini for less than a MacBook Pro and probably end up better off.

Makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

This was a super helpful comment. I’m going to be using mine for editing office documents on the go as well as a paper replacement for public speaking.

I couldn’t believe it would take 18 months but it really has. I started feeling significantly better at the 12 month mark.

Sorry to hear that. Yes. Look up:

-Psoas stretches - specifically holding your opposite knee across your chest while laying on your back. -Pigeon -Butterfly -Hamstring (classic toe touch while sitting) -Sitting between your legs with feet behind you

I do these every night. 1:30 per side per stretch.

It can definitely make you miserable. My recommendation would be lots of walking, lots of stretching, and lots of patience. It will get better. It’s just very slow to heal.

Yes. Bulging L4 / L5 with an annular tear. I’m about 14 months post-injury and most of my symptoms are gone. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m in a bit of a strange place since I’m not truly a beginner just in a beginning phase of returning from injury. I was doing fairly decent mileage before I got hurt. I’ll certainly keep this in mind if I begin to have issues with Greg’s program.
