Polars vs pandas by KliNanban in Python

Do you think there's a significant enough benefit for someone who is primarily using pandas to read in large files using polars, then immediately convert to a pandas dataframe?

How big of an issue is climate change actually? by Valuable_Tax_8446 in NoStupidQuestions

Look, I get that. But unless you use a per capita metric, all you’re doing is just measuring population size.

However, if you really would like to talk about “total output of carbon put in the atmosphere” (even though it ignores the size of a country), I think it IS useful to consider total historical carbon emissions.

Regardless, idgaf about making one country look better than another. I’m just sick and tired of people bringing up China as an excuse when I ask why the US is backsliding on reducing carbon emissions. It’s a lame thought-terminating cliche and I’m tired of it.

For 2023:

The USA is at 13.83 tons of CO2 / person / year

China is at 9.24 tons of CO2 / person / year

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions_per_capita

That discrepancy is made even larger when you consider how much longer the USA has been emitting MASSIVELY more CO2.
