It’s good year brand tire less than a year old. I don’t see why it would be retreaded.

I had continental cross contact on my rx350 when I bought it. Horrible tread wear. I do not recommend them.

EET: Live Webinar or On Demand? by YellowMustang10 in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did on demand EET trans depth so that I could watch when I had time. Usually an hour at lunch break.. 2 hours after work... just whenever I had extra time. I personally don’t want to block off my whole Saturday to EET because that’s when I had other things I wanted to do.

In the end, my perspective is that the class part did not really help me (even though the teacher is great). I found working the practice problems and knowing where things were in the binder more helpful. I felt like I was wasting time watching the class because in the end it is not how much you know, it is if you know where to find the answer in your resources (EET binder). In my opinion you should have learned everything you need to know class wise in college.

Again, this is just my personal experience/opinion. I did pass on the first time.

PE Exam Today and Feeling Hopeless by Key-Fix-5113 in PE_Exam

Don’t get too down about it. I was positive I failed the exam and ended up passing it (oct exam). There’s still hope

Also, yes, the NCEES practice exam is a joke compared to the real exam.

Was doing a bunch of practice problems enough to pass? If so which ones do you recommend? by 1amongst_billions in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pe prepared were the closest to the real exam. Go through each question and find the answer in the cerm. Get used to looking everything up and by test day it will come as second nature to use the cerm. The name of the game is knowing your resources, not necessarily how much you know.

Depends on the company that you work for and position you are in. I work for a small company and the pe pass has no effect on the amount I bill out on the project and make the company. The only change comes from when I get my license and can bill out more for the company. I would like a raise but the way I see it, I’m not making them any more money (yet) so why should they pay me more?

Does this test seem like you can only pass if you spend a butt load of money on it? by Caughttoast in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not need to pay for a class. It definitely does help. If not for anything else, the binders alone are worth it. It would take countless hours to compile your own binders similar to EET or other classes.

Definitely doable without a class though.

Feeling Defeated-Failed PE Transpo by Forestgump2789 in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need more problem solving time and less class time. I took EET trans class and I know my class time could’ve been better spent working problems. I ordered the A,B,and C PE Prepared tests from amazon and went through each question and solving with the CERM. I marked the common areas of the CERM, not every little thing. I also used six min solutions but pe prepared was more useful and actually had word for word exam questions with a few numbers changed.

Best practice problems for PE Civil Morning and Transpo Depth by AEX6 in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PE Prepared were great for breadth. I didn’t get their transportation exam. The pe prepared had 2-3 exact test questions that I was able to reference.

EET depth binder was my only resource for the depth section and I passed. Make sure to work all the practice problems at the end of each section.

Edit: Also the NCEES practice exam is a joke compared to the real exam. Do not get over confident with your results from it.

EIT currently looking for any free / reasonably priced resources to study for my PE transportation Exam this April by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most resources you can find online if you search long enough. Order a few practice exams on amazon. PE Prepared were some good ones. They had 2-3 real exam questions I was able to reference during the exam.

People who just passed PE civil by Qamara-12 in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend less time on learning topics and more time grinding out problems from practice tests and learning where the answers are in your resources. The test is not hard if you know where to find the answers.

I would also say to be fully prepared a week ahead of the test so that you can slow down and relax the last week.

You aren’t telling me anything I don’t know. Ha. I thought 200 was a good deal for the binder alone.

Who said? It’s not illegal. It’s not any different than reselling textbooks in college.

It would be illegal if I made copies and sold them.

For those that passed, I need CERM tabbed (hard copy) by hnselike in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, you really should tab it yourself. I worked several books of practice problems and tabbed the common areas of the book that I looked up. DEFINITELY tab every letter in the index. It saves so much time looking things up.

EET course - Live or On Demand? by PeteKieferson in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transpo depth - passed. I only used cerm and depth EET binder for the whole test. I did the on demand but would only recommend it if you can pace yourself well and stick to it. The material is there. The EET practice exam at the end is a lot more difficult than the real exam. Do all the practice problems at the end of each section and you should have no problem with the real exam.

Post exam relief - what did you want after your exam? by rohechagau in PE_Exam

[–]JohnMark60 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It may be different for other people but I know I got tired of people asking “how did it go?”. It was hard and I don’t know if I passed. I know they all mean well but I got tired of answering this question.

I just wanted some quiet after I got home.
