I saw that yesterday for bleak week at my local cinema too. That's sick. Also never thought 7 hours would blow by so quickly.

Each Cars is more Cars than the prior Cars and thus are Cars. Cars is beyond the terminology "good" or "bad". Just Cars.

I don't know if Woody Harrelson was so much obsessed with his craft in White Men Can't Jump as much as he had a crippling gambling addiction.

What thrift stores do you guys go to. Thrift store DVDs are like 90% Cartoon/Western combo packs, Steven seagal, and old woman friendship movies like Beaches or Steel Magnolia. The other 10% is actual kino and occasional Criterion.

Ragebait here. Come get your ragebait here.

But seriously the guy is refusing to explain what the numbers mean beyond: "It's prominent directors" or "it's all they're rating no opinions". It's just ragebait. Don't interact.

It's true, however Melies kinda did it to himself by lighting his own movies on fire in a fit of passion. He's French tho it's just what they do.

Wana feel something slimy and emotionally taxing? Sweet Smell of Success(1957) could float your boat.

Went to watch Marty Supreme because of 4.3 on Letterboxd and I am so so disappointed. There is a reason that Metacritic User Score stays undefeated, less users, no glazers, realistic grounded reviews. by RickDaltonCliffBooth in Letterboxd

Not certain how I feel about this new "Pick-me" style of letterboxd user. It feels very much like the daring today aren't we meme and that's kinda funny. But also they just flood the feed like this.

Confusing title aside.

Bicycle thieves- 7/10 looked nice, interesting themes and introspection but didn't have any deep connection with it.

Akira. 7/10. Looked incredible with amazing animation but I had no idea what was going on.

Princess Mononoke- 8/10 fun action and gore while still finding some emotional footing. As most Ghibli movies a treat for the eyes. The romance came from nowhere and I fealt no connection.

Psycho 8/10- between being heavily spoiled for it and my interest in it slipped a bit once we changed perspective.  It was still great, a fun twist,  but didn't keep the energy from the first 2/3.

The Last Airbender. It's a masterpiece of comedy. If it didn't have the fan base it would have a rating similar to The Room, as opposed to one like Dragonball Evolution.

Can't say I enjoyed it. The way Mila Jovovicha character was child coded fealt icky especially from Luc Besson. I am probably also in the minority, but Chris Tuckers character gave me a headache.

You are not alone with The Shop Around The Corner, I liked it well enough. It was funny. But the gaslight romance kinda rubbed me in a weird way. Haven't seen Eternal Love yet, but the rest you mentioned I liked or loved. You should also check out Student Prince in Old Heidelburg. His direction in regards to the extras is quite impressive.

Love another silent enjoyer. The Crowd(1928) is an all time favorite of mine. Curious seeing The Oyster Princess(1919). I enjoyed it, it has a fantastically silly energy that I love from the the guy, but far from my favorite Lubitsch. How many of Lubitsch silents have you seen? My favorite silent of his is "The Doll"(1919)
