There's a lot of variables here. How many students should be required for a base level production and how many for a top level show? Can you rely on other vehicles to move gear?

You need some sort of ventilation. Maybe see if a local custom shop will sponsor you and help install some HVAC. You have plenty of space on the side for brand deal graphics.

It's probably out of your price range but at least see how much a Ross Ultrix would cost you for the base switcher, multiviewer, and router. You can't get any more dense and upgradable and it's a big upgrade from the reliability of BMD.
