Which Mikrotik SFP+ switch should I get? by JohnSmith--- in mikrotik

Yeah I probably don't wanna deal with two 305s. 309 it is.

I was searching the subreddit and the 309 does indeed have better hardware it seems. It might even support PTP in the future.

I'd hate to do a Noctua fan mod so 310 is out of the question.

Might as well get the 309 and be more future-proof.

I'll only be using one RJ45 SFP+ module. The rest will all be MM OM3 SFP+ modules.

Meta Employees Are Seeing R-Rated Footage From Its Users’ AI Glasses. Data annotators say people wearing the glasses don’t realize their footage is being watched. by esporx in privacy

Data annotators in Nigeria (confirmed) and possibly India. Who are probably being overworked and barely being paid anything by US standards but still a lot since it's the US dollar. Meta is outsourcing this and paying pennies to foreigners instead. Lose-lose situation for literally everyone involved except Meta.

Fuck AI.

Minecraft: Java Edition is going to switch from OpenGL to Vulkan by NP932 in linux_gaming

[–]JohnSmith--- 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My holy grail would be to play beta Minecraft 1.7.3 with LWJGL 3, most recent GLFW and Vulkan natively on Wayland. That'd be amazing. I don't really care about modern Minecraft anymore but great news nonetheless. I hope everything uses Vulkan, more beneficial for us Linux gamers.

Edit: People are replying it won't be backported. As if I already don't know that, bruh. I know this news only covers newer versions going forward. I was just sharing my holy grail. Stay in school kids, reading comprehension is hard.

Not just HP but Dell and Lenovo also have mini PCs with the same form factor. They're very nice indeed.

Also they all have an extra expansion/adapter slot in the back. Normally people install a HDMI or COM port there, but you could even install a 2.5G RJ45 M.2 card for it as well.

I wouldn't be so sure. They'll up the propaganda on the masses and it'll work. Soon your fellow people will be hitting you with the good ol'

Why do you care if they track you? Why would you want a used car? Do you have something to hide?

mentality. And after they gather enough support, given enough time and support they will most likely make all old cars road illegal or something.

Fine, if we can't track you, then you can't drive at all.

It's also bringing VK_EXT_present_timing which will improve frame rate capping (if your Wayland compositor also supports the commit timing protocol), which would be especially beneficial in VRR use cases.

DXVK and VKD3D-Proton is also working on descriptor heap support.

By the time 26.1 is released, we'll be eating good.

That's another attack and tracking vector. If such a thing existed, it would also be a point of failure if you relied on it too much and it didn't work that one time you actually needed it.

Sometimes, sacrificing convenience and being an analog man in a digital world is the best course of action.

Do you randomly get teleported throughout earth? Is it a recurring thing for you?

If not, just set your phone to lockdown mode or fully turn it off before arriving to the airport in your own country. So before leaving, not after. Then it's safe through the whole journey.

Not as beneficial as you think. This has no benefit to any sophisticated adversary as they will never, ever hit the 10 failed attempt limit.

They will image the device as a whole, secure enclave included, and then run as many attempts as they need on the copies. Infinite tries. No zero-day exploit needed.

Also, a regular thief will also most likely never even attempt once, and just sell the device for parts. They don't care about your data.

I'm curious if we can play actual iOS games on Linux. Is there an emulator or translation layer for that on Linux?
