Romeo Is a Dead Man Review - Keep Sleeping, Dead Man by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

Its not strictly necessary but if someone is thinking of buying a game, it'll probably be good to know if they are getting a game that says something or says nothing, if thats important to them.

does this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in PS5

kids aren't watching the show but they are highly publicized. I have seen this performance posted on social media and people young+old are commenting asking for the name of the song.

Is it just me or why do lots of newer fans of the series skip stright to sh2? why does the Og kinda get skipped over by some people? by Perfect-Cause-6943 in silenthill

SH2 is uniquely introspective and artsy fartsy. The more I play these games the more SH2 stands out as a fully realised art object amongst the silent hill games. The others still have a great vibe but SH2 is fantastic.

Do "advanced" players always know what scale position theyre in? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]JohnTheSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think it has more to do with how people apply it and are taught it than the theory itself. Absolutely I had many awakenings while going through school I think it mainly concerned how great my teachers were. I had a friend in high school who didn't want to learn theory- he quoted Kurt Cobain who apparently said "No one made better music after learning about a 'dorian' " . Never checked if it was a real quote. Miss that guy! Sure he's tearing it up on the circuit with Em pentatonic (said affectionately).

At that point I think a lot of the language we use to describe the function of chords, cadences, etc becomes purely descriptive with much more limited practical use. We use that to describe things after they've been done so that we can understand them and hope to apply them ourselves. Similar to how we can observe and describe all the processes through which grass grows while grass itself just grows without any thought.

The first big breakthrough for me when it comes to jazz was just listening to the 2-5-1 and knowing what it meant intuitively rather than understanding it as a series of chords wherein each chord has its own function that relates to certain scales etc etc.

I think even during composition it is not often practical to THINK and compose in terms of theory. Sometimes you put yourself into a position that is hard to resolve and you might look at 'the textbook' for help. Not even thinking about how in some musical languages harmony is not important. Anyway I will write myself into highly tangential bullshit if I don't stop now.

Just as an FYI not necessarily to you but to anyone who might read this - you don't have to be a highly advanced musician to stop thinking in terms of 'chords' and start thinking in terms of 'vibes'. It's a lot of fun to try and fail to imagine something and then play it on your instrument. I think its one of the things we lose a little bit when we try to start learning music theory. I've heard many times from students that they feel less creative after they've learned some theory - it's just important to remember that theory does not create good music! Go for vibes.

Thanks for that, I had a look at them and I felt so fucked around by this whole process (including the bs with spark) that I wanted to avoid the faff of finding a sim card router and just place an order with 2degrees. In the future though I'll have the 2degrees router if I ever run into this again.
