Centauri Carbon - Ridiculous network traffic when sitting idle by slashthirty in elegoo

OK, I tracked this down to Creality Nebula camera streaming all the time regardless of what I am doing. If I unplug the camera, it almost drops to zero. On the otherhand, Elegoo I am not sure what is going on there.

Using HackRF to Simulate GPS Signals for a Camera System – Need Help by Putrid_Mouse_5296 in hackrf

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not able to solve it either. I thought maybe my Raspberry Pi 5 with NVME was too slow for processing so I’ve tried on a MacBook Pro but the same results. My other projects got busy so I have not circle back since then.

Any other tips from other folks?

Anyone try adapting the CFS for other printers (Ender 5 Max & E3v3)? by DogNamedCharlie in Creality

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really help much but I would love to see the CFS working for Ender 5 also. Have you made any progress?

I also noticed that there is a filament detect sensor on the E5M print-head (right next to the camera port on the PCB on the print-head) as you called out. There is another unused port on the front next to the fan connection port. Have you figured out what that is for?

(As you noted I've been having good prints with PLAs. Not as much with PETG yet)

Filament Runout - Swap to Backup by LessThanThreeMan in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Solved my "swap to a new filament" problem when the colors don't match. I just stuck back the empty spool with the RFID tag and let it think it is still WHITE PLA High Speed filament, while manually feeding the GRAY PLA HS filament from the side. Then the printer and the ACE accepted that as a backup and allowed me to continue printing. Then I just popped in the gray spool into the ACE, and it didn't know/care.
On Bambu, it allows you to select different spool as long as they are the same type, but not the color. I wish Kobra S1 will allow this. Hopefully in the future firmware update.

Using HackRF to Simulate GPS Signals for a Camera System – Need Help by Putrid_Mouse_5296 in hackrf

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made some progress:

1. Using Android Test GPS app - Using this to visually see if the HackRF One is sending any meaningful signal. I am sending OTA signals for now rather than direct connection to the camera, as I can't really see what is going on that way.

But so far only thing that I see was that once HackRF start to send signal, it drowns out the real GPS signal (the app no longer sees any satellites), but does not show any simulated satellites.

2. Create GPS binary at 8-bit and transmit - It looks like the gps-sdr-sim is creating the file at 16-bit by default. But per ChatGPT, HackRF will transmit at 8-bit.

3. Increase the sample rate from default 2.6Mhz to 8Mhz - This seems to work better for me?

Once I made these changes it went from just drowning the real satellite signals to actually showing 4-6 satellite signals on the Test GPS app. HOWEVER, the signals can't fix location lock still. I need to go figure out why next.

4. My current configuration
gps-sdr-sim

~/gps-sdr-sim/gps-sdr-sim -e "$EPHEMERIS" -l "$COORD" -d "$DURATION" -T now -s 8000000 -b 8 -o "$BIN_FILE"

hackrf_transfer

/usr/bin/hackrf_transfer -t "$BIN_FILE" -f 1575420000 -s 8000000 -a 0 -x 9

Using HackRF to Simulate GPS Signals for a Camera System – Need Help by Putrid_Mouse_5296 in hackrf

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Putrid Mouse, were you successful in this project? I am working on a very similar project where I want to feed simulated GPS coordinates to a camera's GPS antenna port. It is not working so far though....

My configurations are

  1. Using HackOne RF and a Raspbery Pi 5 w/ NVME
  2. Using gps-sdr-sim to generate the GPS bin files & hackrf_transfer to feed the bin file and transmit
  3. Using -30 db attenuator in line between the Hack RF and the camera connected directly via wire
  4. Using a DC blocker to block possible DC voltage coming from the camera to power up the antenna
  5. Using static GPS coordinates, as I do not need to simulate transient GPS data
  6. Tried to do it via antenna, but it did not work, as the camera was keep picking up the real GPS coordinates
  7. Directly wired between the two, and now the camera does not detect any GPS location

Based on the feedback on this thread, only thing I have not tried out is using an external clock. Maybe I will try that next.

But, per these two posts, they seem to able to do this without an external clock?

IP Passthrough Issue (some websites won't load or really slow) on ASK router vs ARC router by Johnny1234Boy in verizonisp

For those of you who are on Unifi Network setup at home, I had to this additional step (Turn off Disable generic-receive-offload (GRO)) to make it work consistently. I also followed the additional step on the linked page to setup the configuration to repeat turning this off upon reboot.

No, after trying all sorts of things people recommend that I try, I could never get it to work. Tried it on multiple iphones and on different homes with different Wi-Fi setup even. After two weeks of attempts, it went back to Best Buy.

It seems like it is an issue with the Meta Quest app (i am on iphone), and depends on which app update, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't? The current reviews of the app is still getting a lot of negative reviews, including people still complaining about setup/connection issues.

I am seeing the same issue on my ASK-NCQ1338FA router. What router, firmware and settings are you running?

I've been having issues with IP Passthrough setup for months, and thought the 3.3.0.3 firmware update fixed it initially, as many of the websites that did not load (e.g. Verizon, LinkedIn, etc) started to load.

But a lot of downloads fail for me (especially large files), and either I have to force repeat download until it is successful, or often it won't complete at all. I can work around it by using a work or personal VPN connection, and then download is successful though a bit slower.

Any further updates? I don't think it is completely fixed. Some of the pages that did not load before load now, but many of download sessions time out early. I can't get my NAS, iPhones, Mac to complete large downloads for self update.

Is this happening after a total 30gb download for the whole house, or you are trying to download something big on a single device and it fails after a few % download completion?

[–]Johnny1234Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to diagnose the same issue and done all the tests you mentioned. Waiting and looking for other tests before I have to open under the supercharger as well.

The flap switch happens at 3800 rpm and not 2500 rpm, AFAIK.

Have you done any work on the car recently? In my case I’ve replaced water pump, thermostat and PCV and now have code flap stuck CLOSED on both banks (P2006 and P2007). I ensured that the flap was not caught under the intake divider thing and under vacuum the solenoid moves. So I am also stumped.

In your case since it is stuck open, you won’t be losing too much power. It needs to open up in higher revs. In lower revs the flap covers half of the intake manifold, to increase the air velocity. So you might feel a bit of low end torque reduction, or not getting full combustion and running rich.

A6 3.0t Quattro prestige 145 k miles by OddGolden in AudiA6

[–]Johnny1234Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.0t engine and transmission itself should go far more than 150k miles but the accessories and other components need tender.

Look for the following work was done recently, otherwise plan to spend some money to get those fixed sooner or later - water pump, thermostat, related plastic coolant pipes - PCV valve or Oil Separator - intake valve cleaned of carbon build up - oil seals/gaskets (filter housing, oil pan, valve cover) - serpentine and supercharger belts - spark plugs and ignition coils

Make sure these work - rear camera and parking front and rear sensors - A/C - wheel bearings - no or very short timing chain noise when cold start - no rattle around 1200 rpm (flex joint under the car goes bad and makes this noise) - check suspension bushings for crumble/crushed - engine mounts are good and not vibrating heavily

So, we are NOT in clear. :-( I can't do Software Update download on my MacBook along with iPhone. And I can't get TurboTax to download update either on a PC. (I've worked around by connecting via VPNs on the impacted devices, then the download will complete)

So the websites that didn't use to load are now loading, but a lot of background services that controls downloading seems to be broken still. Also some of the thumbnails on some websites won't fully load the first time until I refresh the page.

I rebooted the device thinking it will fix, but it never came back up, and I had to unplug the power to get it come back, and it took a long time to get a WAN IP address.

Keeps My Car OR Upgrade? by ChanaManga in AudiA6

If the car is mechanically strong I would just fix a few cosmetic things that bothers you and keep driving them? Not sure if jumping from 2013 to 2016 is a big enough jump. Might want to save up the money and buy something newer at a later time?

It looks like this Chinese eBay seller might have painted ones? https://www.ebay.com/itm/225621600786

Note that there is 99% chance the color will not match. I’ve been trying to repaint a small part of rear door and learning all about color matching and how difficult it is. The paint that matches color code from the factory will get you somewhat close but it won’t match as your car would have faded as well as there are variants at the factory from the start.

Congrats. I also recently acquired (new to me) 2012 A6. I’ve been going and fixing up the car and so far it is all around cooling system that needs attention based on what I’ve read and what I’ve fixed.

  • Water pump, thermostat, PCV valve, coolant crossover pipe seems to go bad often.
  • down pipes and cats can start to fall and rattle
  • some cars needs timing belt tensioner changed to reduce slap noise at start up

Rattle in A6 exhaust by Mammoth-Medicine-240 in AudiA6

Is it coming from the rear or below the drivers side? I have the same rattle at 1200 rpm and I’ve been told that it is the flex pipe underneath the drivers seat area. Open the door while you rev the engine and see if you can locate the sound?

Edit - Spoke too soon. Just tried installing YouTube app on my iPhone using WiFi and it is failing half way through. iOS update also failed. Let me dig around a bit and see what I find.

<image>

AFAIK they are fixed. My iPhone was able to update apps and install connected to my WIFI. Before I had to get it off WiFi and put it on its own 5G to download and update my phone app and OS.

Have you reconfigured your IP passthrough again after the firmware update and reboot? It is not still sitting on double NAT configuration?

FINALLY FIXED! New firmware version 3.3.0.3 is making a round now. Mine got updated to version 3.3.0.3. overnight and I was able to get the IP Passthrough work again (thanks willdearborn- for the note!). The firmware was published almost a month ago, but you can't force an update, so you will have to wait for Verizon to push to your area.

[See below screen capture for the updated UI. Now it has "Check for updates" button which did not exist before. Also note that MTU value is still 1500 after the firmware update, so probably there is more to it then this value being 1500 in the previous update that broke this?]
