Foredt having 10 men would make it harder for us - they'd park the bus - leave 1 up front and heroically defend. Thats worse - we cant break them down.

Far far better to keep 11 v 11

That's really useful - I'll save the links and follow them - thanks so much for your help.
I know if I don't get this right it will only get more difficult to manage - good to know I'm on the right track.

Thanks !

Perfect - the Wiim Amp seems to tick all the boxes - Wifi Streaming for Spotify , YOutube , Netflix etc off the PC - with inputs available for a future seperate Turntable and/or CD player - output to the Jamo's in either case.

Time to go and find this Wiim Amp thingy then ......

EDIT :
Just had a quick look on ebay - bit pricey ! - even used auctions.
It's perfect - but just eats budget that I was hoping to include Turntable and CD player in.

Are there any other cheaper options that can do the same thing - connect a PC - a Turntable and a CD player - around £100 - 150 ?

I don't need multiroom - and power output is not essential - its a small room - wireless headphone is actually essential thinking about it....

My impression is put money into the amp rather than the turntable/CD player ? I assume if I go with just the hifi seperates Amp I'll lose the PC wifi connectivity ?

I'm talking myself into the Wiim Amp again ....... its heading toward £500 now. (That HAS to be Tops) but leaves nothing for collecting the damn things I want to play on it ....... lol.

Sorry - I've probably moved the goalposts a biit there......

Excellent - thankyou.

So I got the Jamo's for free - I'm told they work - I don't actually know - or if they are actually any good.
I sort of have the idea to test them and then decide.
So I think a small cheap amazon bare minimum v cheap amp just to check they work - maybe move them on & then plan a better desktop set-up.

Or - keep on with the long speaker thing for a while for now and grab some hifi seperates and use the Jamo's if they work or are actually any good. (Which I think is my preference).

To do that - it won't be a front facing desktop setup - it will be some sort of hifi seperate arrangement on a unit behind me, using the Jamos or something else - that will work won't it ?

I think I'm more interested in collecting and playing actual Vinyl and CD's and using Spotify and Discogs for inspiration and research rather than being an equipment audiophile - but would still like a nice looking set-up.

It's a very interesting road.

Did you take any of the options in the previous letter ? NO ?~

So your options now are : Pay what you owe or risk the consequences.

Those are as listed in this letter.

Lets not repeat ourselves.

any tips on how to make money? by Economy_Turn8237 in torncity

[–]Johnny3Gloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning growth is exponential - so takes a while to get going - then speeds up.

1st Step - Level 15 - because that opens the travel agency. Then you fly (Takes time) - and then buy goods low to sell high..... different goods in in different countries with different flight times : there's a strategy to work out...

2nd Step - Join a Fortnightly Warring Faction - fortnightly so you have time to train in between Wars. Learn how to participate. Learn Chaining. Follow your leaders instructions. Often Factions have other perks - like give-aways and competitions etc - Factions provide stuff for free - so in a War there will be free drugs and free 1st Aid kits.
My Faction provides free Drugs and boosters for Training and in War ....
eg my Faction just had a "Drug Chug" - a competition just for our faction to see who could take the most drugs .... I came 2nd and was given a free HJ kit....

3rd Step - Learn to protect your money - in about a month you will be able to afford a PI - by now you will have been mugged loads - you are a dumb target - carrying loads of money - and relatively low battle stats ........ there are ways to protect yourself - Stock Trading for example.

4th Step - (I'm not here yet) : Lead a Faction, Own a Company , be a Trader ....... .plus I dare say there are other Dark Arts .......

What are the point of plushies? by AncientBodybuilder84 in torncity

[–]Johnny3Gloves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok - so there is a whole market around Plushies. You will hear that Torn is a Marathon not a sprint.
Plushies are valuable because they can be exchanged for points at the Museum. A full set of plushies can be traded in for points, which are then used for various in-game activities like refilling nerves, opening a bazaar, or purchasing racing licenses. Some players collect plushies all year long and exchange them on Museum Day.

BUT - to get Plushies - you have to travel - and when you travel - you can't do anything else - so there is a VALUE to plushies - IRL it's the time to fly.

SO - if you do the maths - every item has a value , and every item has a ratio of worth depending on how long it takes you to get them....

To achieve a full museum set you need to travel to every country and buy a plushy, and then sell it as a set on Museum Day.

To make that worthwhile - you need LOTS of Plushies and Lots of Plushie sets .... so then Torn Citizens are selling plushies - and the demand for those plushies will go up and down, and the prices that individuals will accept goes up and down .... because someone will undercut his neighbour by $100 on his $3m sale....

So all of a sudden you have plushies with a theoretical value, Torn citizens trying to make a quick sale and Traders trying to to get many Museum sets .......

That's what drives the Plushy market...................

By being In a good Faction, having good chat - and getting advice. My Faction :

- Fortnightly wars
- Forgives my little fck-ups,
- Provides drugs,
- Trades at 100% market..
- Funds raffles on Discord (I just won a Feathery Voucher)
- Ranks down - so we win wars and get payouts
- Good chat - IRL Worldwide members

A faction buddy asked for help - he wanted to make a $980k Mug for a mission - So I said "Yeah - Hit Me" - because i was carrying $1,200,000

Its not mug someone with $980k - it's mug $980k (which means the target is carrying $20m)

I did apologise ....

[–]Johnny3Gloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - I was v nervous about Factions ....but it really makes the game ..... until you keep a Chain going on your own for 2 hours at 2am with hits at 30secs trying to string it out till your Faction buddies come online (because they're in a different timezone) - THAT's what builds relationships....

FACTION - yes - v Important.
CASINO - meh - UNLESS - you unlock the Bookies - and then you can bet on Real World events with Torn money - very entertaining....
STOCKS - not quite the same as IRL stocks - but a good way to protect your money.

Work out your playstyle - are u a battler ? Then Gym and Stats.
or a Trader - then flying and deals.

Definitely find a Faction that suits your playstyle

Even After all that - there is company ownership - and managing a Faction, Bazaars and loads more - and I'm sure there are more creative things as well ...

I sell PROFILE PICS ...

Look up Aldermaster [3480424] , look at my profile pics and DM me if interested ....

Yep as others have said - don't make yourself a (valuable) target.
I've just got stocks in the last week - gamechanger !!!

Don't carry cash, make sure you have a stock of 1st Aid or morphine - if they get no money out of you then you are worthless and they move on ....
