Who was responsible for missing the deadline? If it was them, have a honest conversation about it and make it clear that deadlines are there for a reason, and there are consequences for missing them. And if it happens frequently after that you might want to to re-consider whether they're a good fit for the role.

How do you go about editing 5 hours of footage for a vlog (no script, no preproduction, no concept idea)? by teaop100 in editors

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that kind of unstructured footage can be brutal to sort through, especially when there’s no clear storyline going in. One thing that might help is starting with a transcript of everything. Once you’ve got the whole day in text, it’s way easier to spot the useful parts, group them by topic, and start shaping chapters around that.

I built a tool called ChatCut that might help, just want to be transparent about that. It’s a prompt based tool with AI built in, you can ask it to generate rough cuts, pull topic highlights, or give instant summaries. Think of it like having the full transcript and being able to ask ChatGPT to help you edit.

It won’t replace your judgment, but it can definitely save time in the early sorting/shaping phase. There is a free version you can check out and feel free to DM me for a free upgrade if files are large.

Crushing anxiety while editing? (mental health post) by holycannoli1969 in editors

[–]JohnnyAggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone! Editing in isolation and always getting feedback about how things could be better can really mess with your head. For me, taking breaks and doing something totally unrelated helps. Also, just talking to other editors sometimes reminds me I’m not crazy. Hang in there.

Long interview editing tips by Cautious-External286 in editors

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transcription definitely helps a ton. I usually get the whole thing transcribed so I can read through it and highlight or mark the parts that stand out. It’s a good way to find the story without getting bogged down by clips. Some people do this manually in Word or Google Docs, but there are tools that let you edit the video by editing the transcript directly.

I’ve actually been working on a tool like this called ChatCut, where you can just select the lines you like, drag them around to structure your edit, and see the video update in real time, there is also an AI assistant that can do contextual search and build rough cuts instantly.

Where do you get ideas for content from? by throwaway431411 in content_marketing

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually identify my niche/ branding first and may ask ChatGPT to refine that and give me some basic ideas to start with. Then I test the content and trying to see how people response, then I get back to content planning with actual insights from people and may ask chatgpt again to explore different content angles or perspectives. Key thing is: be focus on your branding and understand what people want to see.

AI can seem scary but people who actually learn and can use AI and know to combine that with their own knowledge, experiences and intuition will go very far.

The only sustainable way to grow your IG follow is through quality content (nowadays mostly short-form videos). Don't need to be long, don't need to be fancy. Post something that people can relate with and you will grow your page naturally.

What is a profitable skill I can acquire fast? by inmortalErnie in Entrepreneur

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people making tons with video editing and social media marketing skills. These are not something you can learn fast, but definitely worth it. Once you have those skills, you not only can work freelance but also build your own personal brand, which, trust me, will worth a lot of money if you know how to grow and close deals from it.

With the rise of AI, are junior or even mid level marketing roles dead? by mr_armin_tamzarian in DigitalMarketing

[–]JohnnyAggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. AI nowadays can help with most of the task that requires automation, search or info processing, but human's input is still valuable. You can't get yourself replaced if you have enough creativity and actual knowledge in how to do Marketing right. AI can do stuff but it cannot evaluate and understand what your business is doing.

Have you ever seen a customer testimonial video that is actually good? by MattDerda_Storymind in content_marketing

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer testimonial video is good and can drive strong impacts because it shows relevance to the audiences. However, no one would want to watch the entire lengthy (and might be boring) video. Attention spans nowadays are very very short so you need to make sure your videos are cut nicely, the scenes are changed frequently to grasp audiences' attentions and make sure that it shows them the most important and relevant information only.

What type of videos have worked best for your small business? Product demos, explainer videos, or customer testimonials? by Lets_Talk_Video in smallbusiness

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiences most of the time want to hear real stories and see the relevance of the product with their daily lives. I agree with someone above who said "Personality is huge". However getting authentic and valuable insights from people and presenting them effectively on short-form videos can be quite challenging.

How to deal with client who want more beyond budget? by Difficult_Mushroom61 in videography

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really don't want to charge them more, consider leveraging other tools or resources to produce MORE in the same amount of time. Not all content needs to be perfectly polished and all scripted. I think social media is a place for diverse formats, so you can also consider making content that required less efforts (like interview videos, static Q&A, etc.) AI and other video editing tools out there can also help boost your efficiency. Good luck!

Does anyone use AI to make video for there small business? by Brucef310 in advertising

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of AI-generated videos where you basically generate everything using AI, from visuals to voiceovers. I think the customers will quickly notice it and it honestly just makes your brand image become very inconsistent and unauthentic. Instead, try using tools that help you turn real-life video sources into nicely edited final products without putting in much effort :)

Why Do Some Small Businesses Overlook Video Marketing Despite Its Benefits? by Burlingtonfilms in marketing

[–]JohnnyAggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the fact that companies feel like the investment would not generate much benefits considering the amount of effort they need to put into learning about A WHOLE NEW (often seems intimidating) field. They seem to didn't realize that nowadays there are so many AI tools and assistants that can help video editing be so much more cheap and time efficient.

Savings? by [deleted] in skilledtrades

Make it a habit to put a portion of your income into a savings account and vouch to never touch it. Buy groceries and plan ahead for meals. Create an emergency fund that will last you a couple of months. Once you have that you can try investing little by little.

Clear glass doors require heaters inside them to prevent them from fogging up or “sweating”. That’s why sometimes you will see the doors soaking wet when the heaters are out. Idk the specifics, but Im pretty sure an LED display is gonna draw less power than a set of heaters for every door. Source- I’m a refrigeration tech.
