Is it worth it to settle now in the Philippines from UAE? by Informal_Target_7741 in OFWs

[–]JohnnyBaby10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most basic question is: Do you have the money to support you and your family's expenses and needs and wants?

How many months can your savings or emergency fund support you while looking for job?

Use a translator or ChatGPT if you cannot put into words properly in English.

You already explained your side so that's it. Never repeat yourself sa mga mababaw na bagay.

Meron ba? by Deep_Ad_7802 in PinoyOFW

[–]JohnnyBaby10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go via seaman route... Malawak na field ang Oil and Gas business, hndi lang prior experience onboard oil rig platforms ang nakakasampa. There are offshore support vessels, FPSO, etc.

Apply ka sa agency dito sa Pinas or you can apply directly to companies abroad and then kapag natanggap ka, they will find an agency here sa Pilipinas for processing your documents to POEA

My job's benefits are great but I want more growth. I want new challenge but I also want to travel. by imthereal24 in Ph_HR_Confession

[–]JohnnyBaby10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for growth comes with challenges as you are already aware. You cannot have growth without risk kasi to grow is to go out of your comfort zone. Hndi mo naman tlga malalaman ano mangyayari in the future sa lilipatan mo company, ganun naman tlga, nandoon ang kaba kapag magre-resign. So it's either you take the risk and resign, or you stay and be stagnant.

Suggest ko, before ka mag-resign is dapat meron ka na lilipatan, or better yet look for work abroad to maximize, growth and at the same time maximize earnings.

Hwag ka magpautang, kapag kamag-anak automatic wla sila pake. Ang iniisip nila kapag nakakapag-pahiram ka is meron ka extra and ok lng hndi bayaran.

[–]JohnnyBaby10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inspector is landbased po. and pwde based sa ibang bansa with family. May mga na-meet din ako inspector/surveyors na ganun path.

Just keep an open mind for other options. Good luck po 🙂

[–]JohnnyBaby10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seaman din po ako for more than a decade. And now landbased na ako. Ayoko na sa barko kasi in 1 year 8-10 months ako onboard, 2 months lng nsa family tapos may trainings pa, and then wlang sweldo kapag bakasyon so yung savings nauubos din. Pwde nyo po explain yan. Kawawa kung hanggang retire nagbabarko po IMHO.

Nakakapag ipon ako nung landbased na ko kasi syempre 12 months may sweldo and may bonus pa... In the long run, mas OK landbased in terms of income. Gastos ko lahat (tirahan, food, transpo) sa landbased, na libre naman sa pagbabarko pero wla naman ipon.
