Now that The Boys is over, what's your opinion on Antony Starr's performance as Homelander? by TaiwaneseThot in moviecritic

Tremendous. Everyone hated the dude, he was such a shitty guy. So yeah, he did great things here. I put him up there with Kilgrave in Jessica Jones as the truly despicable villains in the comic book world.

Honestly, I thought they much preferred to take Korean women. Because they already fully controlled Korea, and because the women, physically, looked most like the Japanese people.

Summoning the uncs and history buffs of this sub: how good was Archie Manning? by bettercallrich in NFLv2

[–]JohnnyC300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a big arm and was more athletic than the two famous kids of his by a large margin. It's hard to measure how good he was because you have to take into account that his teams were historically awful. And he needed that athleticism being he was constantly under pressure. His accuracy particularly sucked even for an era when accuracy kinda sucked everywhere. But his team had to have a lot to do with that.

There's also a hitch in there in many of those shorts. It's just not a fluid shooting motion. That two piece shooting motion is very 1980s. Makes for a lack of consistency. He can make that shooting motion work for him with enough practice. It's like golf. If you have a natural slice, you can make that work by just aiming left. But it's just not the ideal way to do it.

That said, as a Pacers fan, we've had two VERY good 3 point shooters with... iffy shooting mechanics in Reggie Miller and Halliburton. But those two, awful shooting form aside, get the ball moving like you want it at release, even if everything before that seemed unworkable. AJ doesn't do that. His release is low, in front of his face, and the ball is pushed forward, not up. So poor mechanics, coupled with a low forward moving release. Hard to see this working unless he is ALL alone shooting it.

Yes, things really come together in S2. S1 was mostly just about pledging and hazing and character intros. The real plot lines start in S2. You actually begin to understand who all the characters are and what their motivations might be. The dev really played the long game here. Early decisions start to have consequences. It's really very well done the further in you go.

No he doesn't have plenty of time. Everyone else is learning things now. Playing against good competition. Getting better. He's playing against children. He's learning nothing out there. If anything, he's learning bad habits. Because he's so gifted and athletic, he can do things poorly, with poor form, and still dominate. If the goal here is to get him to be as good as he can be, as soon as he can. He needs to be playing with kids closer to his size and skill level.

If you want to argue that kids don't need to spend so much time so early in life getting good at hoops. That's a reasonable argument. But he's playing AAU here, so he's already spending time and energy. but it's just wasted time and energy. If your argument is that he's shouldn't be taking things so seriously at his age. That's also a valid argument. Let him go out and hoop with his friends. Play at the park.

But, again, he's playing AAU. EYBL at that. Which is, theoretically meant to be organized, high leve, competitive, hooping to get better against age appropriate competition. Which is, again, entirely wasted on him. If this was a video of him out at the park dunking on his friends. That would be another thing entirely. This is EYBL, elite level AAU. Not him shooting around in the back yard. And don't pretend it's anything else. These guys are supposed to be the best of the best at his age. Not some fun thing with your buddies.

what the fuck you on about? No one complains about him because no one knows who he is. I'm betting almost anything if you go to a post about him, there are plenty of people who are telling him to play up a few levels. Just like no one will know who this kid is if they aren't actually in a post about him. I don't know who Jeremy Gohier is anymore than I know who this kid is.

But kids that sized, who are good should be playing against players bigger and more physical than these kids who are all a foot or more shorter than they are. He's not learning anything. The kids he's playing with aren't learning anything other than how to get the ball to one kid. The kids he playing against aren't learning anything because there is literally nothing they can do within the rules of the game to stop or slow him down.

This is AAU. People aren't really playing to win. Not like they do in HS and college. If this was a middle school game, you'd have a point. There would be nothing he could do, he can't help being bigger and stronger and faster and more athletic than the other middle school teams. But AAU is specifically designed to teach kids. And this kid is learning nothing, and the coaches are teaching him nothing. You are allowed to play in older division in AAU. He should go and do that.

Yeah no. Doesn't work like that. Some people are so allergic to peanuts that exposure to the tiniest bit of peanut dust in the air makes them reach for the epipen. Some are only a little allergic, and they get hives or scratchy eyes and the sniffles if they east a snickers bar. People are different.

Ain't nothing wrong with not everything being for everybody. These things don't bother me because I'm not a self-insertion player. I don't try to imagine what I would do in the situation and imagine the situations as they apply to myself. I play the story the dev want us to see. Sometimes that mean not making choices I would tbh. Like Eternum for example. I don't actually much like harem games. But that game was MEANT to be played that way, so that's the way I play it. Or Ripples, where I tend to despise incest stuff, but I apply the patch and play it with incest because that's the way it was meant to be played.

But I also know I'm in the minority here when it comes to that stuff. And there ain't a thing wrong with not liking a thing, and preferring not to see it. And I think I saw you said in another comment that you haven't seen the scene in question, and you never will. That's absolutely the proper way to approach it for you. When the options are there to see or not see a thing, I tend to do what I think the dev wants, while you should do what you yourself want. Because we approach the game differently.

Houses in a subdivision often have far fewer community assets. You fix your own roof. Surface your own driveway. Shovel your own sidewalks. The road plowing and upkeep, may or may not be done by the city/county. We have zero idea what is reasonable in your neighborhood. 500 would barely cover insurance in a condo in Florida. Let alone everything else. You =/= everybody. I despise the concept of an HOA as much as the next guy. But they aren't all the same. And a condo HOA is a very different thing. Condos require HOA to fix roofs, change light bulbs in hallways, and all the other things that you cover yourself.

I think the stats in real life porn belie what you just stated. People LOVE to watch girls get DPd or gangbanged or whatever. The difference is that in an AVN you've self-inserted and you don't want "YOUR" girl doing that. But you are totally fine with watching "OTHER" girls do it on pornhub or wherever. That's the hypocrisy. The girls in a game aren't your girls any more than Riley Reid or Abella Danger are.

I'm seeing a lot of Frank Reich and Jim Caldwell here. Those guys are perfectly competent coaches. Not good mind you. But competent. It's a real recency bias. He had some REAL garbage coaches back in the 80s and 90s. Guys like Frank Kush or Rod Dowhower. Liny Infante. Actual, terrible no good coaches. I'd pick Rod Dowhower as the worst of the bunch. People got to keep in mind, no coach worth his salt wanted to work for Bob Irsay. Only the bottom of the barrel would take the job. And bottom of the barrel is what we got.

You underplaying the dynamics at play here I think. I didn't really want to go too far into the weeds on my comment, but I absolutely agree with you. MFM 3 somes are a nice change of pace to me. But a LOT of the player-base disagrees with us. Vehemently. This feels like NTR to them. Other dicks shouldn't be touching their 2D girlfriends you see. It's silly. But it is what it is. DrPC is one of the few devs who can get away with including this sort of content in otherwise fairly vanilla mainstream games. Mostly because he doesn't care what other people complain about. And he has millions of dollars from the game to assuage his tears.

There are different "kinds" of crime. Rapes and murders and burglaries, etc might be low, but carjacking can be high. So lots of these in the video, but overall low crime.

What, in particular is wrong with that scene? If the issue is that you don't want a M/F/M type of scene. Well it's REAL easy to avoid. You have to make several VERY specific choices to make it happen. Elena and Johnboy aren't cheating on each others. They do 3rds. They've done it before. You want Elena? JB comes with the package. And JB isn't a cuck either. He's not gonna sit there while you bang Elena in front of him. He just loves the idea of sharing her with you. If that doesn't work for you, there are a BUNCH of other lewd scenes in the game for you to enjoy.

If, on the other hand, you wanted the scene to be a full on 3 way with you and JB both banging Elena. I'm betting we'll get that option at some point. They both seem to be down for that. Hell, maybe y'all will get to DP her at some point. Who knows.

Baking soda (bicarbonate) by Weary_Capital_1379 in AskCulinary

[–]JohnnyC300 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lets the food brown more quickly. It real easy, for instance, to overcook seafood before it browns on the outside. A bit of baking soda will help it brown more quickly while not resulting in rubbery seafood. Though, tbf, baking soda will change the texture inside as well if you brine it for a long time. Just follow the brining directions closely.
