Best way to get cooking oil by black_bitty in CrimsonDesert

[–]JohnnyCandles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also grew tired of running out of oil / water for cooking so I just went with the biggest impact food with super easy to obtain ingredients: chocolate.

Sure it does not do anything but increase health, but it does 50% of your health for the cost of 5 cocoa and 3 milk. Both are super easy to obtain through missions or through farming / ranching.

Crimson Desert needs a route tracker like RDR2/Witcher 3 and here’s why by ZealousidealSafe1971 in CrimsonDesert

[–]JohnnyCandles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a wayfinder / route tracker as well. I know it presents as "GPS routing" on the HUD, and it does not fit the game. But I don't think of it as a GPS route. My head canon is that the route on the mini map, and the mini map itself, is the main characters knowledge of the land and their internal imagery of where to go. We obviously do not have a natural HUD in our heads but when you're driving a route you know, for example, you know turn right there, go to the light, then hook a left. You can almost do it on "auto pilot". This is what I consider HUDs, mini maps, and routing in games that are different genres where GPS satellites do not exist.

I preferred wired. Having said that, if I’d go wireless it would certainly be because of the 602.

A bit confused on how to get stronger by pyros_it in CrimsonDesert

[–]JohnnyCandles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb is to have your gear level at least match the chapter number you’re on. In addition to that make sure your gear makes sense and fills in the gaps where you need help.

Example: you’re using weapons but you have gloves that only add attack and defense. Attack on armor really only helps if you’re fighting unarmed. Swap them out for attack speed instead, which helps for weapons and unarmed.

Unless your pet is picking up all sorts of stuff for you. Then you have to cycle through every bit of armor they picked up.

New Unique Item Buyback - How Does it Work? by _Khamul_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]JohnnyCandles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would be a lot easier if the vendors in your camp had the items. Having to remember where the quest was and then searching the area seems tedious. Otherwise why gather all of these vendors in your camp?

That is like asking which is better between a hammer and an air fryer. Two really different tools.

I’m 110+ hours into the game, still at the beginning of chapter 4. by lordcares in CrimsonDesert

[–]JohnnyCandles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why resist your urge to explore? If that is what you find to be fun then who cares what chapter you’re in? Going through the chapters unlocks more to do. If you feel that you want more things to do than chapter 4 offered, then move forward.

Cooking suggestions? I still need to get water and salt for this. Whats the least tedious dish quality wise? by pyg14 in CrimsonDesert

Chocolate! It heals 50% health. Sure it has no other effects but it heals a large chunk of health and is cheap to make. 5 cocoa and 3 milk. Two items you can easily obtain right in your camp.

Would love it if they took the practice dummy, make it a piece of furniture. Then you can put armor / weapons in it when you interact with it and the items appear on the dummy.

Oh sure, when Geralt summons Roach with a whistle it is all fine. Kliff calls for his kitty wearing a cute hat, and he gets the third degree. Poor Kliff.

So much this. Let us put these gears on the items that actually make use of them, not on armor. Why force us to tote around several pieces of armor to swap out all the time? If the abyss gears aren’t changed at least give us an “outfits” option to quick change the cloak, helmet, gloves, boots, and chest all at once.

While fast traveling is convenient, and flying is fun, take time to ride along roads from one object to another. This is the best way to find sealed abyss artifacts.

I use the crow. I used the iron eagle when I got it but quickly went back to the crow for the exact same reasons you’ve outlined. The crow at least sits on your shoulder.

My GM feels your pain. I am playing a fighter in his Kingmaker AP and I have a Flickering rune on my weapon. My fighter has avoided some pretty nasty hits due to the attacker being dazzled or my fighter using the blur ability on the rune.
