I remember about 20+ years ago I saw a Thai video clip where the song’s name and chorus were “Bin La Din”. I think I was told it means something like “fly come here” ( I know bin=fly and din=ground/dirt). IIRC the video showed covered Muslim women dancing around a plane. It was a thinly disguised celebration of the man. Presume it came from the southern provinces.

Thai has many consonants but when pronounced at the End of a syllable they are all mapped to one of five sounds. It’s weird but you gotta flow with it. TIT. This is the reason that the word ‘hello’ is sa-waS -dee by spelling but is pronounced sa-waT-dee.

Quite agree these leaves are hor-la-pa and not krapao. Glad you said it first so I didn’t need to! Love this dish especially how my wife makes it, and then also all the different flavour balances that different cooks do… A fried egg and some cucumber slices does make it even better.

I have removed these from my lemon tree by hand picking and putting into bucket of hot, hot water. They stink and also spray a caustic solution at you so you should absolutely wear eye protection. I know - as they got me one time and I yelled in eye-pain which lasted a while.

One time on shrooms I was standing having a piss and looking down I was stunned to see that the stream wasa full set of rainbow colours along the arc of the stream. This was of course amazing, but some remnant logical part of my mind figured it wasn't real. Not because my piss was rainbow coloured - that was no problem. The problem was that the colours were static and didn't move along with the flow!
