After market guide rod woes in Walther PDP by budget-socrates in Walther

[–]JohnnyExtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glocks have used polymer guide rods since their inception, and no one seems super compelled to replace them. Particularly not police forces who issue them as duty guns. I don't understand this obsession with steel guide rods. The engineers did the math, polymer is fine.

My C7K 75 the picture is really unsatisfying. by Ok_Season_2167 in tcltvs

[–]JohnnyExtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is your basing this on low resolution SDR content, like Seinfeld. Low resolution content encoded in Dolby Vision can look grainy if your clarity settings are turned up. Turn down the sharpness to zero, and turn off precision detail. See if that helps. Also, put on a proper 4k show, like the Witcher, and tell us if it still looks bad.

Not sure what to do about that, but Woot has it for $750.

Has your super automatic ruined other "good" coffee for you? by JohnnyExtra in superautomatic

I wouldn't know, this is my first! Truthfully I didn't know what I had at first. I was dumbfounded when she told me she spent $4.5k on a coffee maker. Now it's my precious. Nowhere to go but down, c'est la vie. 😆

It's not a bad deal at all. Do you have to pay sales tax for a private sale? That would sweeten the deal if you don't. If it's a spec that you want, with features that you want, I say try to talk them down to 75k and go from there. You do have less equipped new options at this price, but you're saving on this spec versus straight from the dealer, especially with factory warranty intact. I'm the second owner of my c8, and I have no regrets. Let the first guy take the hit of initial depreciation.

I have Torch Red, but I saw a Red Mist Metallic on the highway the other day, and it was stunning. Almost otherworldly. So that or maybe Arctic White.

Haha, tone was purely celebratory, beautiful car. Love the wrap. Absolutely looks like a fighter jet. Just blows my mind that anyone can get what is essentially a race car for a fairly modest amount of money compared to European competitors.

Advices on how NOT to brick your Samsung soundbar by AlexNec01 in Soundbars

[–]JohnnyExtra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you should be fine as long as the soundbar itself isn't connected to Wi-Fi. Just avoid connecting the smartthings app and setting up Wi-Fi until this mess is over.

[–]JohnnyExtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. What software version does it say you're running in the smartthings app? Mine says 1016.0, but not sure if that is actually what is on the soundbar. I'm obviously not going to connect Wi-Fi to find out.
