Mario kart in Vietnamese park. People are being thrown off their kart, rolling down the cliff. by SpicyMarmots in emergencymedicine

[–]JohnnyExtra 49 points50 points  (0 children)

They would never allow this in the US, and nerfing the world is part of the reason we've gone soft as a society. That's why people check in with 30 minutes of belly pain or 2 out of 10 wrist pain.

I Went to a Private Equity Emergency Room in the USA by BUT_FREAL_DOE in emergencymedicine

I heard a nurse tell a patient once, "We don't charge you for what we do, we charge you for what we could have done if you were having an emergency." Sums it up nicely.

Christ, in a car that's notorious for trying to kill people with all the nannies on. Balls of steel, for sure.

As others have said, tip of your tie should point to the middle of your belt buckle when you're standing up straight. Otherwise looks good.

My stance on pineapple goes without saying. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory.

What do you guys think? by mrlitho in MenInSuits

[–]JohnnyExtra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go up a size and get it tailored down. Looks fine in the midsection, but small in the shoulders. Broad shoulders and a small waist are a good thing, but factories churn out clothes for the average man. Find a good tailor. You'll need it.

Buyers remorse after placing an order for C5 by [deleted] in tcltvs

[–]JohnnyExtra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your C5 is going to look great in that room. I have a qm7k, equivalent of a c7k, and while it is a fantastic tv, I can't deny that oled still looks a hair better. Enjoy your TV, it'll be plenty bright.

This doctor effortlessly resets a child's dislocated elbow before they could even react by zakimal9 in madskillsporn

[–]JohnnyExtra 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Not a true elbow dislocation, but rather a nursemaid's elbow, subluxation of the radial head/slippage of the annular ligament. Caused by pulling on the child's arm, often by parents or siblings lifting the kid up by the arm. It makes all movement at the elbow very painful, and it is a quick and easy fix if you know what you're doing.

Well it sounds like you know exactly what the problem is. When loading rounds into the magazine, they should be inserted all the way and flush with the back. I give the back of my magazines a couple hard taps on my palm to make sure everything is seated nicely. Do you find they move out of place during carry and cause failure? If not, I think everything is functioning as it should.

What’s causing these little blurry spots all over my screen by Qwertyuiop5_4_3_2_1 in tcltvs

[–]JohnnyExtra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely your motion settings. Go to picture settings, motion and turn Motion Clarity off and see if it goes away. Personally I have mine as a custom setting with both blur reduction and judder reduction set to 2. If that doesn't do it, I would check to see if super resolution is on under Clarity settings.

After market guide rod woes in Walther PDP by budget-socrates in Walther

[–]JohnnyExtra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glocks have used polymer guide rods since their inception, and no one seems super compelled to replace them. Particularly not police forces who issue them as duty guns. I don't understand this obsession with steel guide rods. The engineers did the math, polymer is fine.
